Technical Background
The LATC coating is designed to protect a vehicle’s painted surface for up to one year.
During exposure to outdoor environmental conditions, the surface of the LATC coating may be
contaminated with dirt, dust, and debris. It is recommended that these deposits be rinsed off with soap
and water before removal of the film.

The LATC clear coating film is designed to peel easily from a paint finish at a surface temperature range
between 60ᵒ F and 90ᵒ F.

LATC Removal
Step 1
 Bring the vehicle to optimal removal
temperature between 60ᵒ F and 90ᵒ F.
 If the vehicle is not at the optimal removal
temperatures:
 Place the vehicle in the wash bay or covered
area.
 Wet the film thoroughly using ordinary tap
water from a garden hose.
Tip:
This step will cool the film down when hot or warm
the film when frozen.

Step 2
 Peel back a corner of the film and then simply
pull it at an angle off the body by hand. The
film should come off in sheets.
Note:
NEVER use hot water to remove the temporary
protective coating.

LATC Paint Inspection after Removal
Inspect painted surfaces under one of the following conditions:
 Indoors under fluorescent lighting.
 Outdoors under bright sunlight.
Note:
If any defects on the exterior have been identified (scratches, dings, dents and other types of body
damage), contact your supervisor and arrange to repair defects immediately. Repairs MUST be
completed prior to delivery.
LATC Adhesive Residue Removal
A standard car wash will remove any adhesive residue left from the removal process.
