Grecale – Top Strut Mount Check

Certain Maserati Grecale (M182) MY23 listed in MODISCS+ are involved in a Rapid Update to carry out a
procedure for checking air leaks and possibly replacing the front shock absorbers.
This action is necessary because, on a limited number of vehicles, a component has been installed with a
material that has excessively high porosity. This can result in air leaks from the suspension circuit. To address
this issue, it is advisable to utilize a leak detector to determine whether the front shock absorbers are
leaking. If leaks are detected, they should be replaced accordingly.
We remind you that all Rapid Updates must be performed the first time the vehicle enters the workshop,
regardless of the Mandatory setting set in Modis, as required by Maserati policies.
Likewise, for cars in Stock Dealer/PDI, it is necessary to carry out all campaign operations before delivery to
the final Customer, as prescribed by the White Book and explicitly reported in the Pre-delivery checklist.

NOTE: The procedure below is described for one side of the vehicle. Carry out the same operations on the
opposite side of the vehicle to check both the Driver side and Passenger shock absorbers.

Always check ModisCS+ to see if the vehicle is involved in this action and if it has not been previously
performed.

Disconnect the battery, following the procedure in the workshop manual.

Open the front hood and locate the top of both the right and left shock absorber areas. Remove both
front wheels to access the shock absorber attachment area via the wheel well area.

08.20.001 - BATTERY - Connection/disconnection of the electric power supply

06.00.001 - RH FRONT WHEEL RIM - Removal and refitting

Using leak detection liquid (e.g., Snoop Leak Detector) or an equivalent, check for air leaks in the areas
circled in GREEN (both the Driver and Passenger side engine compartment and in the wheel well
compartment areas) Make sure to spray the entire circumference of the areas shown.
