Issue Summary
Symptom:
¢ Fuel leakage between the fuel pump flange and fuel pump gasket
Root Cause:
¢ Fuel pump gasket malfunction
Verification
¢ Check for fuel leaks between the fuel pump flange and fuel pump gasket. Reference Figure 1.
¢ Operate engine to double check the leakage point.

Resolution
« Ifthe fuel leak is between the fuel pump flange and fuel pump, replace the fuel pump gasket. See Table 1 below. See
corresponding Service Manual. Reference Procedure 005-016 in Section 5.
¢ Operate engine. After engine coolant temperature is above 85°C [ 185°F ], raise the engine rpm for 20 minutes and check for
fuel leakage.

Part Identification
The capscrews hole on the new fuel pump gasket is made of metal instead of rubber.
