FRONT SEAT AIR DUCT INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT
(SERVICE CAMPAIGN TAH)

 IMPORTANT
Dealers must perform this service campaign on all affected vehicles prior to customer retail delivery
and whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair.
Access the “Vehicle Information” screen via WEBDCS to identify open campaigns.
Description: This bulletin provides information to inspect the front seat air ducts for damage and
replace them if needed. Certain 2023MY Ioniq 5 (NE1) vehicles may exhibit reduced performance of
the ventilated front seats due to damaged air ducts.

STUI
As outlined in the Digital Documentation Policy, all claims require VIN and Mileage validation
through VCI connection or photo capture. Additionally, please ensure the repair Part photo
requirement is completed according to the steps in the TSB. All claims submitted that have
incomplete, illegible, or missing documentation are subject to debit.

NOTICE
This service campaign for Ioniq 5 (NE1) can only be performed by IONIQ certified Hyundai
dealerships.

NOTE 1: Submit claim on Claim Entry Screen as “Campaign” type.
NOTE 2: If a part is found in need of replacement while performing this campaign and the affected
part is still under warranty, submit a separate claim using the same repair order. If the affected part is
out of warranty, submit a Prior Approval request for goodwill consideration prior to performing the
work.
NOTE 3: Op times include VIN, Mileage and Part (if applicable) validation.
NOTE 4: The incident parts are subject to callback through the normal Warranty Technical Center
(WTC) parts return process. Claim is subject to debit if the part is not returned.

Service Procedures:
Front Seat Air Duct Inspection
1.

Move the front seat completely forward using
the adjustment switch (A).

Remove the straps securing the front seat
lower protector (B).

Remove the Velcro tape (C) and disconnect
the upper end of the front seat air duct (D).

Ensure photos are taken for both existing front
seat air ducts, whether there is damage or not.
Check the front seat air duct (D) for damage as
shown in the picture.
If the front seat air duct (D) is damaged,
proceed to the next section to replace it.

If no damage is found, no further repairs are
required.

STUI
Using STUI, take a photo of the
existing front seat air duct(s).
Include in the photo a piece of
paper containing the last 6
digits of the VIN, side of the air
duct (driver or passenger) and
the date of the repair.
Upload the photos to STUI.

Repeat steps 1-4 on the other front seat.

seated when reinstalled.

Front Seat Air Duct Replacement
1.

Remove the front seat headrest (E).

2.

Remove the front (F) and rear (G) bolts of the
front seat track.

Information

When reinstalling the front seat(s), use
the following tightening procedure:
1. Move the seat completely
rearward and hand tighten the
front bolts.
2. Move the seat completely forward
and fully tighten the rear bolts.
3. Move the seat completely
rearward and fully tighten the front
bolts.

Hold the front seat at the top and tilt it forward
as shown in the picture.

NOTICE
Be careful not to scratch or damage any
interior parts.

4.

Remove the front seat air duct screw (H).

5.

Pull the front seat air duct (D) in the indicated
direction to remove it.

Install the new front seat air duct (I) by pushing
it in the opposite direction from the previous
step.

STUI
Using STUI, take a photo of the
new front seat air duct(s) after
installation. Include in the
photo a piece of paper
containing the last 6 digits of
the VIN, side of the air duct
(driver or passenger) and the
date of the repair.
Upload the photos to STUI.

7.

If necessary, repeat steps 1-6 on the opposite
front seat.

8.

Reinstall all parts in the reverse order of
removal.

9.

The service procedure is now complete.
