DESCRIPTION

This document will guide the user through replacing the engine cover lower spacer for buses exhibiting air leaks through the
seal.

REPAIR STEP(s)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE:

Item 1: Engine Cover
Item 2: Mounting Bolts
Item 3: Spacer block

1. Remove the 13 mounting bolts, item 2 Figure 2, from the engine cover, save for reinstalling in a later step.
2. Remove the engine cover and set it aside for later use.
3. Remove the spacer block from each side and discard.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:

Item 1: Plywood floor
Item 2: Foam spacer
Item 3: Adhesive backing

1. Remove the adhesive liner from the new foam spacer as shown in Figure 3.
2. Install the new foam spacer into the proper location as shown in Figure 3 ensuring no gap is present.
3. Reinstall engine cover into position

4. Reinstall the engine cover bolts, see Figure 2, in sequence 2a (torque 9-11 NM), 2c (torque 6-8 NM), and then 2b (torque 9-
11NM)
