(CAMPAIGN TAC)

 IMPORTANT
Dealers must perform this service campaign on all affected vehicles prior to customer retail delivery
and whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair.

Access the “Vehicle Information” screen via WEBDCS to identify open campaigns.

Description: Certain 2023MY Palisade (LX2) vehicles may have been produced with the incorrect size
water outlet hose clamp during assembly. This can result in a coolant leak during engine operation.
Follow the procedure outlined in this TSB to inspect and, if necessary, replace the water outlet hose
clamp with the correctly sized hose clamp as listed in the parts catalog.

STUI
This TSB includes a STUI picture as a requirement. Where indicated, please include the last
6 digits of the VIN and date of repair on a piece of paper. Ensure the VIN and date of repair are
clearly visible. Finally, please ensure the captured picture is completed according to the steps in
this TSB and uploaded to STUI. All claims submitted that have illegible, incomplete, missing, or
incorrect picture(s) are subject to debit.

NOTE 1: Submit Claim on Campaign Claim Entry Screen
NOTE 2: If a part that is not covered by this service campaign is found in need of replacement while
performing the service procedure and the affected part is still under warranty, submit a separate claim
using the same repair order. If the affected part is out of warranty, submit a Prior Approval request for
goodwill consideration prior to performing the work.
NOTE 3: Op time includes taking a picture using STUI and uploading. The STUI picture must include
the new hose clamp installed with a piece of paper displaying the last 6 digits of the VIN and the date
of repair. If not included, claim will be subject to debit.
NOTE 4: The incident parts are subject to callback through the normal Warranty Technical Center
(WTC) parts return process. Claim is subject to debit if the part is not returned.

Open the hood and remove the engine cover
(A).

Check the number on the water outlet hose
clamp (B) in the light.

If the clamp size number is “22”,
replacement is not necessary. Inspection
is complete.

•

If the clamp size number is “24”, proceed
to the next section to replace the water
outlet hose clamp.

Record radio presets, then turn off the ignition
switch and disconnect the negative (-) battery
terminal (C).

Open the radiator cap (D).

! CAUTION
Never open the radiator cap when the
engine is hot. Hot fluid under high
pressure escaping from the radiator can
cause serious scalding.
Make sure the engine and radiator are
cooled before performing this procedure.

When working with coolant, be careful
not to get coolant on belts, electrical
devices, etc.

Lift up the vehicle and remove the engine room
undercover (E).

Be careful not to damage the parts
located under the vehicle (floor under
cover, fuel filter, fuel tank and canister)
when raising the vehicle using the lift.

Loosen the radiator drain plug (F) and drain
the coolant.

Information

Drain the coolant into a clean container
that is not contaminated. The coolant will
be reused later.

Tighten the drain plug securely and lower the
vehicle.

and loosen the fixing bolts (I) of the air cleaner
assembly.

direction of the arrows to make space.

Place a paper towel or cloth (M) under the
outlet hose.

Remove the water outlet hose and replace the
clamp (N) with the supplied “22” sized clamp.

Take a STUI photo of the newly installed “22”
sized hose clamp.

Using STUI, take a photo of the newly
installed hose clamp with the last 6
digits of the VIN and the date of repair
on a piece of paper.
Make sure the “22” is clearly visible.
Upload the photo to STUI.

Reinstall all components in reverse order of
removal.

14.

Replenish the coolant in the reservoir tank with
the previously drained coolant.

15.

Perform coolant air bleeding.

Refer to the shop manual:
Engine Mechanical System > Cooling
System > Coolant

Information

If the coolant is insufficient, replenish
coolant to the ”MAX” level on the
reservoir tank.

Reprogram radio presets.
