General Information
Velvac made a change to the mirror electrical connector in mid-2022. Vehicles built through June 17, 2022 have
mirrors equipped with a 7-pin electrical connector. Vehicles built after June 17, 2022 have mirrors equipped with
a 6-pin electrical connector. This bulletin does not apply to vehicles built after June 17, 2022, or to vehicles not
equipped with affected mirror part numbers listed in Table 1.

All replacement mirrors listed in Table 1 now come with a 6-pin electrical connector. When installing a
replacement mirror on a vehicle built through June 17, 2022, the 7-pin connector from the existing mirror must
be spliced on to the new replacement mirror.
Replacing Velvac Mirrors on Vehicles Built Through June 17,
2022
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the engine, and set the parking brake. Chock the tires.
2. Install the replacement mirror. For instructions, see Group 60 of the applicable workshop manual.

NOTE: Installation of the lower mirror bracket cover and electrical connections will be done in a later
step.
3. Remove the 7-pin connector from the old mirror by cutting the wires several inches from the connector. Be
sure to leave enough length of wire attached to the 7-pin connector for splicing later in the procedure.
4. Remove the 6-pin connector from the new replacement mirror by cutting the wires as close to the connector
as possible.
5. Splice the 7-pin connector removed from the existing mirror in step 3 on to the wires on the replacement
mirror by matching wire colors. For instructions to splice the wire, see Section 54.00, Subjects 100 and
110 of the applicable workshop manual.
6. Connect the door harness to the mirror harness.
7. Install the lower mirror bracket cover.
Warranty
This procedure is warrantable only if the described condition exists and the repair is performed within the
applicable base or extended coverage warranty period. If a failure is not found, this procedure is considered
preventive, and warranty does not apply.
Normal warranty applies. See Table 2 for OWL VMRS codes and labor allowance information. Enter this service
bulletin number in the Service Bulletin # field.
