Summary

DESCRIPTION
Several coaches built after 2023 ECO 300 (before the issue was discovered) may not have the
charge wire hooked up properly between the battery isolation module located in the PDC box in
the front passenger side bay and the front Newmar fuse panel located under the driver’s side
dash on the wall.
ISSUE
Without this wire hooked up to the F8 fuse at the fuse block, the house batteries may not charge
while driving.
UNITS AFFECTED
Please refer to the attached population list for affected units and VINs.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Follow the attached instructions to inspect and reroute the wire if necessary. Call your Newmar
Service Account Manager to increase the time to .8 hr. and to order parts if a repair is necessary.

Instruc�ons for Checking and/or Hooking Up a Charge Wire
The 16 ga. blue wire with a white stripe running between the batery isola�on module and the
Newmar fuse panel (F8) under the driver side of the dash may not be hooked up.
The wire runs through the wire loom hole in the front firewall near the center of the hood
opening, and then inside the coach across the dash to the driver’s side. The line should have
been hooked up to the terminal (F8) with a 7.5-amp fuse installed. At the �me of produc�on, in
many cases, the wire was mistakenly run back out through the firewall at the top driver’s side
under the dash and then up into the driver’s side a-pillar.
Remove the fuse box cover and inspect:

If there is a blue wire with a white stripe on the terminal for F8 and the 7.5-amp fuse is
in place in F8, reinstall the cover. Do not proceed with the remaining work instruc�ons.
If the F8 fuse terminal is empty, proceed with one of the processes outlined below.
Op�on 1 (Method used at Newmar)
With a flashlight and something to cut the zip �e
(such as diagonal pliers) handy, lay down under
driver’s side dash, and locate the loom at the top
driver’s side of the dash going through the
firewall. Look for a 16 ga. single blue wire with a
white stripe (located in a small loom by itself).
Once the wire is located, in most cases, it can be
pulled back through the firewall out of the apillar. It may be necessary to cut a couple of wire
�es to separate the wire looms to find the correct
loom containing the blue wire with a white stripe.
Cut to length, strip, and install female spade
terminal on F8 terminal, and install 7.5 ATC amp
fuse. Zip-�e any bundles of wires you removed zip
�es from and secure the wire running to the fuse
box as needed.
Op�on 2
With the hood open on the outside of the coach,
locate the wire where it first enters the firewall.
Cut the wire and splice on the new piece, running
the new sec�on of the wire to the F8 fuse on the
fuse block (it would be in its own loom here also,
as pictured). Loom and �e up wire as needed.
Op�on 3
Pull the a-pillar and find the wire, loosen, and reroute it to the fuse block, lengthening it if
needed. Route it down to the fuse block and loom/secure as needed. (No photo shown.)
General Note: Do not spend a bunch of �me digging for this wire, as it is not that difficult to
find. If you can’t find it in one spot, check in one of the other spot(s). Remember the blue wire
with a white stripe is the only wire in the small loom.
Tes�ng: A�er the blue wire with a white stripe is hooked up, you should be able to test the
house batery voltage and verify the house bateries are charging with the engine running.
Remember: the charge condi�ons must be met for charging to occur.
