SITUATION
While driving on rough roads, a buzzing sound is heard coming from the front driver’s and/or passenger’s
side door panel trims.
This noise occurs in the area of the door switch cluster operating unit.
Note: Please see the attached video V51 01 23.

CAUSE
Driving on rough roads cause the door panel trim to vibrate creating the buzzing sound.

CORRECTION
Apply a foam strip on the back of the door panel trim.

PROCEDURE
Verify that a buzzing sound is heard from the front door panel trim area. If yes, proceed to step 1.
It may help to press firmly against various places on the door panel while the buzzing is heard, to listen if it goes away
1. Remove the door panel following the repair instructions listed in ISTA/AIR (51 41 000).

2. Verify whether the foam strips were applied as
shown in the photo.
If the foam strips were already applied,
this bulletin does not apply. Continue with
diagnosis.
If NO foam strips have been applied,
continue to step 3.

3. Cut the foam strip in half as shown in the
photo.

4. Place two foam strips on the back of the
trim as shown in the photo.

5. Install the door panel back on the vehicle and verify repair.
