The affected vehicles have been marked with campaign number INFO202208 in AIR.
In order to determine if a specific vehicle is affected by this campaign, it will be necessary to verify the
vehicle VIN in AIR (Aftersales Information Research). Based on the response of the system, either proceed
with the repair or take no further action. Please note, open campaigns or vehicle stops may not appear in
DCS Warranty Vehicle Inquiry or sales systems until 24-72 hours after they are announced, therefore AIR is
always the recommended method for determining open campaigns and vehicle stops.
SITUATION
LED headlights were temporarily unavailable from the Factory and some R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS
Adventure units were built with the halogen headlight in order to ensure safe use.
CORRECTION
The Monroney Label was updated, and pricing was adjusted to reflect the change from LED to halogen
headlight prior to any wholesale and retail of any motorcycle.
A later LED headlight retrofit to replace the halogen headlight will be offered for vehicles that are equipped
with options (Dynamic ESA (SA 0191) and factory installed cruise control (SA 0538)).
NOTICE
At present, the LED headlight retrofit is not possible as not all the required part/s are available. A delivery
date will be communicated once there is more information about availability, including the retrofit part
number/s and pricing.

A later LED headlight retrofit kit will only be offered for these R 1250 GS and GS Adventures with
option code (019Z). If a customer requests this retrofit, double check the option code using AIR.
NOTICE
At present, the LED headlight retrofit is not possible as not all the required part/s are available. A

PROCEDURE
If the customer decides on having the Adaptive LED Headlight retrofit kit and their motorcycle has the
required option code (019Z), it can be purchased and installed at the customer’s expense.
