Applications
Freightliner M2 chassis equipped with Gen 5 ProRail® side mount p/n 28704000-001 and p/n 28705000-001
compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems.
Introduction
Some ProRail® fuel systems applications may desire ground clearance beyond standard mounting. Hexagon®
Agility® has created the following procedure to address the application. A retrofit kit has been developed to
provide an additional 2 inches of ground clearance.

Procedure
WARNING Before performing this service procedure the fuel system pressure must be at or below
1500psi (103 bar).
1. CLOSE manual valves on both cylinders.
2. Depressurize fuel system.
3. Remove fuel and PRD vent lines from fittings and electrical harness from bulkhead at back of driver side
system.

4. Use hose pinch clamps on coolant hoses and remove hoses from hose barbs on back of system.
5. Disconnect HP fuel tube and PRD vent tube from passenger side system and gently pull away from
connection fitting.

6. Remove clips and clamps securing HP fuel crossover tube and PRD vent tube.

7. Disconnect electrical harness from thermistor connector.

8. Position a forklift or pallet jack with protective pads below system.
9. Remove bolts (locations circled) from QTY: 2 system frame brackets.

10. Use a forklift or pallet jack with protective pads to lift system off mounting brackets. Secure system to lifting
device prior to lifting or removing.
11. Repeat Steps 8-10 for opposite side of vehicle.
12. Remove QTY: 4 bolts securing each frame bracket to frame rail and remove brackets.

13. Measure and drill two new mounting holes 2.00” up on center from the middle of the existing lower
mounting bolt holes using a 11/16-in drill bit.
NOTICE Spray/coat new bolt holes with a rust inhibitor.
14. Use QTY: 2 bolts, 2 SD Washers (circled) to secure spacer to existing holes.

15. Use new fasteners (locations circled) to secure existing spacers and brackets. Torque all fasteners to 135
ft-lbs. (183 Nm).

16. Reinstall systems on frame brackets using a forklift or pallet jacket and secure using mounting hardware.
Torque the upper mounting bolts to 69 ft-lbs. (93 Nm).
Torque the lower mounting bolt to 63 ft-lbs. (85 Nm).
NOTICE Exceeding torque specification will compromise the mounting bracket.

17. Connect LP fuel hose per Fuel System Fitting Installation and new fuel and PRD vent tubes per OEM
compression fitting specifications.
18. Verify fuel and PRD vent tubes are secured per ENP-524.
19. Reconnect all coolant hoses per Fuel System Fitting Installation and electrical connections on both systems.
20. Remove driver side and passenger side front system covers perform a cylinder inspection checking the
cylinders, cylinder mounts, and plumbing.
21. Slowly OPEN cylinder manual valves.
22. Turn ignition ON to repressurize fuel system.
23. Perform leak check on all new fuel line connections.
24. Reinstall driver side and passenger side front system cover.
25. Perform Reassembly and Validation.
