Volvo Car USA has partnered with Wurth USA to bring forward a managed insulated glove program.
This glove program eliminates the burden and worry of tracking glove expiration. Participation in
this program helps to ensure technicians are using up-to-date gloves that meet the safety standards
while performing a repair.
Additional products and updates to this latest bulletin are:
•

VLEVPPE1 Kit: now comes with nylon storage bag for gloves

•

All new individual part numbers for both Inner & Outer gloves, with full size range 8 to 12

•

Lightweight cotton gloves that can be used as a layer of personal hygiene protection when using
an inner glove

•

Glove Inflator Kit (required for testing before and after use of inner gloves)

•

Nylon storage bag for inner gloves

•

Protective face shield & storage bag

•

Blue Arc Resistant/ Flame Resistant Jacket (Large size only)

•

Rescue Hook

Yes, I would like to enroll into the Würth-VMI EV Glove program where Würth will ship a pair of inner Lineman Gloves every 6 months
per pair of glove(s) ordered. Retailers who wish to be removed from the VMI EV Glove program should send a written notice to Würth
at least 60 days before glove reorder time line. Any terminated dealer code will automatically be removed from the program.

HIGH VOLTAGE SAFETY PROTOCOL AND WÜRTH GLOVE PROGRAM DETAILS
IMPORTANT: When the electrical glove is issued to a user, the user will have 6 months of in-service use from the
issue / invoice date. ASTM D120 and ASTM F496 regulations (OSHA 1910.137) require action items to remain
in compliance with glove use, testing and shelf life. To maintain integrity and mitigate risk, our Würth-VMI EV-Glove
program consists of a Würth sales personnel assisting with disposing and reordering of electrical gloves.
1. Remove expired gloves from High Voltage Safety Kit

2. Expired gloves are to be destroyed and
disposed (cutting the gloves is recommended
for this step). The pair of expired gloves should
NOT be kept or used for other application

3. Place the pair of new gloves into High Voltage Safety Kit.
These gloves will be valid for the next 6 month period.
If available, record the in-service and expiry date of new
gloves.
Damaged gloves should be taken out of service immediately and replacements ordered.

REMINDERS: What should workers do before and after each use?

Visual inspection looking for cuts, holes, tears or any deterioration that may cause the glove to fail.
Air inflation to find pin holes not visible (reduces arc flash potential).
Ensure glove use within 1 year of the stamped manufacturing date and use is not beyond 6 months from in-service date (issue / invoice date).
Ensure outer protector gloves are similarly inspected for physical damage and replace when necessary.
Gloves should be stored away from excess sunlight or sources of ozone that can damage the glove.
Do not store the gloves folded, creased, inside out, compressed, or any manner that causes stretching.
If the glove is covered with foreign materials, petroleum based solvents, adhesives, etc., the glove should be cleaned to avoid harm to the rubber
material.
• Wash gloves with mild soap and rinse thoroughly with water. Air dry the glove at less that 120° F away from direct sunlight and sources of
ozone, then place in appropriate storage.

WARNING! Electrical Insulating Gloves must be used, cared for and tested in strict accordance with their instructions, and work in high voltage
environments should only be performed by professionals appropriately trained in safety procedures. Improper use of these products may lead to death or
serious injury from electrical current. It is the responsibility of a product user to assess the level of risk and to determine the level of protective equipment
required or appropriate for the user’s particular purpose. Würth disclaims all responsibility for any death, injury, or property damage resulting from a
user’s failure to strictly follow the product instructions and applicable safety procedures.
