Issue Description

Optimized software is available for the central computer (PCM) control unit and Connect control unit.
The software for the Connect control unit and the central computer (PCM) control unit must therefore be
updated on the affected vehicles and the Driver's Manual must be replaced with an updated status.

Please arrange for this measure to be carried out as
soon as possible on affected vehicles. As of the time
of this posting, the repair is immediately available.

Important information on handling the integration test on
the PIWIS Tester as part of a workshop campaign

The integration test on the PIWIS Tester checks the conformity of the control unit system of vehicles on the
basis of the approved customer service installation specification (Service Installation Instructions). This will
detect an unapproved or no longer up-to-date control unit system.
When new control unit software is provided, the Service Installation Instructions are also amended. This will
take effect immediately with the related PIWIS Tester release. As a result, all relevant vehicles are tested
against the currently approved software system after the PIWIS Tester release has been installed. Depending
on the result of the check, all relevant control units must be updated when prompted to do so by the PIWIS
Tester.
Following this workshop campaign, all control units to be programmed as per the integration test in the PIWIS
Tester will be displayed as "red" when the relevant PIWIS Tester release is published and must therefore be
updated.

• For this PCM software update, the USB storage medium USB Type A+C 32 GB with the part number
V04014999WW000 must be used.
• To use the software tool, one blank or re-writable USB storage medium is required for each individual
software.
• The software available in PiUS must only be used in accordance with the instructions provided in a
Technical Information published for this purpose.
