This instruction refers to other documents that are necessary to do the procedure.
This instruction is applicable on the RH and the LH side. The illustrations show the LH side.
Situation
Water in the steering rack boots have been found on some vehicles during wet condition.
Action
Install the new revision of the steering rack boots and the adapters.

Open the front hood with the key fob or from the center console.
Disconnect the 12 V system, refer to WOM-00007.
Disconnect the HV system, refer to WOM-00021.
Lift and put the vehicle on jack stands, refer to WOM-00031.
Remove the luggage plate, refer to WOM-00047.
Remove the front mudpan, refer to WOM-00031.
Remove
from the LH side of the power steering rack.

3. Record the length of the steering rods.
4. Hold the LH steering rod end
in position with a 19 mm wrench.
Loosen the 21 mm nut
on the LH steering rod
.
Disconnect the LH steering rod
with a 13 mm wrench.
Remove and discard the steering rack boot
from the LH steering rod
Do steps 1 thru 7 for the RH side.
Disconnect the steering rod
from the 32 mm adapter

Disconnect and discard the 32 mm adapter
from the LH side of power steering rack.
Get access to the RH 32 mm adapter from the below.
Disconnect the 32 mm adapter from the RH steering rod.
Disconnect and discard the 32 mm adapter from the RH side of the power steering rack.
Do an Inspection of the power steering rack for the damage and the corrosion.
º Make sure that there is no damage and corrosion on the power steering rack.
If a defect found, do not continue with this procedure. Contact Koenigsegg by
submitting a KATS ticket.
Install
1. Install the 32 mm adapter
on the LH side of the power steering rack.
Part: 166-643-2001
Consumable: Loctite 243
Torque: 90Nm
2. Connect the LH steering rod
to the 32 mm adapter
.
Torque: 90Nm
3. Get access to the RH side of the power steering rack from the below.
4. Install the 32 mm adapter on the RH side of the power steering rack.
Part: 166-643-2001
Consumable: Loctite 243
Torque: 90Nm

5. Connect the RH steering rod to the 32 mm adapter.
Torque: 90Nm
6. Install the new steering rack boot
on the LH steering rod
.
Part: 130-642-5000
7. Move the steering rack boot
on the LH side of the power steering rack.
8. Install the new clamp
on the power steering rack.
Part: 130-195-8001
Note
Do not tighten the clamp on the power steering rack.
9. Install the new clamp

Hold the LH steering rod end
in position with a 19 mm wrench.
Connect the LH Steering rod
to the LH steering rod end
with a 13 mm wrench.
Adjust the LH Steering rod
to the recorded length with a 13 mm wrench.
Do steps 6 to 12 on the RH steering rod.
Prepare the vehicle for the wheel alignment. Refer to WOM-00119 and do the sections that
follows:
º Prepare
º Remove the RH Front Anti-Roll Bar
º Remove the RH Rear Anti-Roll Bar
º Steering Wheel Angle
º Front Ride Height
º Rear Ride Height
º Prepare the Wheel Alignment.
15. Set the toe out front (-2.0 ± 0.1 mm), refer to WOM-00119, section Toe Out Front.
16. Tighten the 21 mm nut
on the LH steering rod
.
17. Tighten the clamp
with sufficient force to tighten the steering rack boot
on the
power steering rack.
Tool: Ear clamp plier
Note
Do not apply too much force. The clamp can cut the steering rack boot.
18. Tighten the clamp
with sufficient force to tighten the steering rack boot
