Subject: New Cascadia Vehicles Equipped With DClimate P4 Ground Cable Anti-Corrosion Sealer

Issue

Models Affected: 2020 to 2022 New Cascadia vehicles built from

July 8, 2020, through September 1, 2022.
General Information

Our records indicate that you are the owner of certain vehicles and therefore DTNA has decided to share

the following documentation with you.

Issue

Some New Cascadia vehicles equipped with the D-Climate system have the ground cables installed on

the alternator body in a manner where the cables are not fanned or flat, as shown in Fig. 1. Once the

spray is applied, it can interfere with the proper or clean grounding of the alternator as well as other

components. See Fig. 2.

Work Instructions

1.
Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the engine, and set the parking brake. Chock the tires.
2.
If the vehicle is having electrical issues, remove the ground cable mounting screw, and clean the

mating surfaces and the cable ends with a scotch brite pad or similar product. Assemble the cable

ends as shown in Fig. 1.
3.
Make sure that the mounting eyes on the cables are properly fanned out to allow full contact of all the

cables with the alternator case.
4.
Tighten the ground capscrew 65 lbf.in (734 N.cm).
5.
Add corrosion-inhibiting spray or dielectric grease to the correctly installed cable ends.
