Summary
Rivian
is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that could exhibit inadequate sealing on the seams of the high voltage (HV) battery. This condition could, in rare instances, result in moisture entering the HV battery and a potential loss of HV isolation. A loss of HV isolation could cause a detectable short in the HV battery, causing the vehicle to enter a reduced performance safe state mode and a "Limited Performance Mode" indicator light to illuminate on the driver display. Rivian will apply a sealant to the perimeter of the HV battery to prevent moisture from entering the seams of the HV battery. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles.

Procedure
1. Remove: Reinforcement, Frame, Front, Lower (refer to service manual procedure 522212010).
2. On both sides: Remove: Panel, Underbody, HV Battery, Side, LH (refer to service manual procedure
606511010).
3. Remove: Panel, Underbody, HV Battery, Rear (refer to service manual procedure 606513010).

a. Clean the highlighted area(s).
b. Using compressed air, blow dry all cleaned surfaces.
c. Apply a 6 mm diameter bead of sealant to a small section of the HV battery.
Tip: Attach a flexible straw and use an inspection mirror to apply sealant to tight areas.
Working in small sections will allow the sealant to be spread without curing.

d. Using a putty knife: Spread the sealant to completely cover all vertical edges.
e. Continue this process around the entire perimeter of the HV battery.
f. Apply sealant to the exposed foil at each corner of the HV battery where the frame meets the
bottom plate.
Tip: A trim tool or scraper bent at 90 degrees can be used to apply the sealant to each
corner that has exposed foil.
5. Check the entire area to make sure that there are no small holes or air bubbles in the sealant.
6. Reinstall all components that were removed for access and replace all non-reusable components.
CAUTION: Make sure to avoid making contact with the sealant when reinstalling the
components.
