New 12V battery properly charged

Front door windows both rolled down
No pre-existing “No Communication” or “Faulty Control Module” faults stored for modules that
require updating
Service interval adaptation channel $0541 read out and recorded:

Step 1 – USB Flash of ICAS3
Pre-flash:
Nothing connected to vehicle’s OBD diagnostic connection
Hazards on
Driver door open (must remain open for entirety of ALL flashes)
Seat belt buckled into driver’s seat buckle
Key placed over reader coil in center cupholder
Post-flash:
Radio System Information displays: Device part number - 10A035842J, Software - 0561
Seat belt unbuckled from driver seat buckle
Ignition turned off
USB drive removed
Step 2 – Replacing 12V Battery
Before replacing 12V battery:
Serial number from NEW battery recorded__________________________________________
Ignition turned off
Brake pedal was briefly pressed and 2 minutes has elapsed
Zero voltage measured on 12V battery cables after removing negative terminal
After replacing 12V battery:
All power cables installed on fuse panel A
All connections properly torqued
Battery cable cover installed prior to tightening negative terminal
Battery monitoring control module -J367- plugged back in
Step 3 – Perform Software Update SVM
Pre-flash:
VAS5908 Charger turned OFF and back ON to reset default charging time
VAS5908 Charger connected to 12V battery
Seat belt unbuckled from driver seat buckle
USB drive removed
Hazards on
Driver door open (must remain open for entirety of ALL flashes)
Scan tool is communicating with the diagnostic head by USB
ODIS shows address 005F software = 0561
ODIS shows address 8125 software = 0561
Ignition cycled OFF, then back ON before starting the SVM
Post-flash:
ALL control modules reporting OK
Step 4 – Perform Bus Sleep Procedure
All keys at least 20 meters from vehicle
Nothing connected to vehicle’s OBD diagnostic connection
Hazards off
Battery charger removed from 12V battery
All doors, hood are rear lid closed
Vehicle locked
15 minutes elapsed before turning ignition back on
Step 5 – Perform Software Configuration via SVM
Pre-flash:
VAS5908 Charger turned OFF and back ON to reset default charging time
VAS5908 Charger connected to 12V battery
Hazards on
Driver door open (must remain open for entirety of ALL flashes)
Scan tool is communicating with the diagnostic head by USB
Ignition cycled OFF, then back ON before starting the SVM
Post-flash:
ALL control modules reporting OK
Step 6 – Perform Replace 12V Battery Test Plan
Test plan completed
Step 7 – Perform Bus Sleep Procedure
All keys at least 20 meters from vehicle
Nothing connected to vehicle’s OBD diagnostic connection
Hazards off
Battery charger removed from 12V battery
All doors, hood are rear lid closed

Verify ID Light operation after road test
Step 12 – Replacing Owner’s Manual
First page of original owner’s manual removed and placed with new owner’s manual
New owner’s manual AND tow hook supplement placed in glove compartment and original owner’s
manual discarded
