Summary
Complaint • The flush-mounted door handle could jam when it is pulled out and may move in a jerky manner when doing so. • In the area of the paneling section of the door, paint damage could be present (picture 1) and/or an abrasion point could be present at the door handle (picture 2) Cause The door handle could be misaligned in the y direction and/or the z direction (picture 3); as a result, the door handle could brush the door at the paneling section of the door. AG Page 2 / 6 • The door handle must be in pulled-in position. • Open the affected door and push the door lock's rotary tumbler into the main catch. • Lock the vehicle using the transmitter key so that the door handle is pulled in. • Detach plug connector from bearing bracket (center slot). 3.) Paint over paint damage at door paneling (see picture 1) according to manufacturer specifications, using spot repair procedure if necessary. 4.) Loosen old assembly frame (picture 5, step 3). • The assembly frame is bonded. • Remove adhesive residue at front door. • Bonding surfaces must be free of dust, oil, grease, wax, dirt residues and other adhesive components. Otherwise, this can lead to bonding problems. • See "Parts" for part number of cleaning agent. 5.) Position new assembly frame (picture 5, step 3) at door. • Remove protective film of tape at assembly frame beforehand. • The assembly frame (picture 5, step 3) must have the same clearance all around the flange. 6.) Replace door handle, if an abrasion point (picture 2) is present.

5.) Position new assembly frame (picture 5, step 3) at door.

Remove protective film of tape at assembly frame beforehand.
The assembly frame (picture 5, step 3) must have the same clearance all around the flange.
6.) Replace door handle, if an abrasion point (picture 2) is present.
7.) Screw in WITOL fasteners (picture 6) completely at mounting points of bearing bracket (picture 7, step 1) and align
screws so that they are flush (picture 7, step 2).
8.) Position bearing bracket (picture 4, step 2).

The door handle must have the same clearance all around in relation to the paneling section of the door (picture
8).
9.) Press the bearing bracket firmly against the paneling of the door and tighten the screws (picture 4, step 1) (=> torque: 6 Nm).
10.) Check the positioning of the bearing bracket. If necessary, loosen the screws slightly, readjust the bearing bracket slightly, then retighten the screws (=> torque: 6 Nm).
