Description of Change
This document announces the release of a more robust EGR cooler.
Reason for Change
This change is the result of tube header change in the EGR cooler.
Customer Communication
New EGR upfit kit, ECM calibration, fleet count, and engine dataplate is only required if
engine does not already have the EGR cooler support bracket shown in Service Instructions
section.
Engine must have existing ECM calibration code listed in Table 1.
If the EGR cooler is replaced, the EGR cooler upfit kit in Table 2 is required.
An updated ECM Code calibration revision in Table 1 is required.
A fleet count calibration password in Table 3 is required.
An updated engine dataplate is required.
Service Instructions
In the event of an EGR cooler malfunction, and if EGR upfit kit is not already installed,
existing EGR Cooler must be replaced with new EGR Cooler and components, ECM
calibration, and engine dataplate. Reference Tables 1, 2, and 3.
If EGR upfit kit is not already installed, follow additional instructions below before referring to
service manual. If installed, see X15 CM2450 X134B Service Manual, Bulletin 5613373.
Refer to Procedure 643-011-019 in Section 11.

A new authorized change label, Part Number 5297400, must be ordered and installed on
engine. To install authorized change label:
Fill out authorized change labor sticker with new CPL, new ECM base code, distributor
or dealer code, and date. Leave campaign number section blank.
Clean area near engine dataplate for authorized change label.
Peel backing material from authorized change label and install near engine dataplate.
SRT 17-901 is available for authorize change label installation.
Fleet count, Part Number 3886396, is required when changing base ECM calibration code.
