Due to ITR releasing a technical bulletin MTB-229-20, Newmar
has released a recall bulletin
NHTSA # 22V 583 and TC# 2022-436. On certain Newmar
motorhomes equipped with
International
Thermal Research powered heaters, ITR may have installed an incorrect fuel line
on the heater, which may leak fuel.
ISSUE
Any fuel leak is undesirable, and a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase
the risk of a fire.
UNITS AFFECTED
Please refer to the attached population list for affected units and VINs.
DEALER CORRECTIVE ACTION
Verify and document the Oasis serial number, inspect the fuel line, and follow the repair
procedure per the attached ITR bulletin. Call your SAM for the correct time authorization and to
order the part if needed. Provide picture(s) of the bad fuel line and another after the fuel line
replacement has been completed.

This notice is sent to you as a Newmar
Dealer in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic
and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Newmar
Corporation has decided that a defect, which relates to motor
vehicle safety, exists in specific Newmar
recreational vehicles.
The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act requires that each vehicle, which is subject to a recall
campaign of this type, must be satisfactorily repaired within a reasonable time after the owner has
tendered it for repair. A failure to adequately repair within 60 days after tender of a vehicle is prima facie
evidence of failure to repair within a reasonable time. To avoid providing these problematic solutions,
every effort must be made to promptly schedule an appointment with each owner and to repair their
vehicle as soon as possible. Vehicle owners are being notified of this recall. If the condition is not remedied
within a reasonable time, they are instructed on how to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration.

WHAT WE WILL DO
The dealership will inspect the fuel hose on the heater, and replace it, as necessary. Dealer will notify owner at time of
contact for service an estimated time for repairs. However, due to scheduling times the service provider may need the
vehicle longer.

As this defect does affect motor vehicle safety, it is recommended that you call Newmar
service department immediately
at 1-800-731-8300. An associate will assist you in making an appointment to have this repair completed.

Incorrect Fuel Line
Short description of problem:
It was recently discovered that a general purpose hose was inadvertantly used in place of the ¼” fuel
line in ITR’s powered heaters. It is unclear in which models this general purpose line was installed,
but it would be within the range of the date codes in the above serial numbers.
The above fuel line is the correct type. It has “FUEL LINE SAE30R7” marked on it. The incorrect hose
can be identified by either marking of “VALUFLEX/GS” or by what appear to be holes in the hose as
shown below.
This hose is subject to leaking. If a heater is discovered to have this hose, it must be changed out
with the appropriate fuel line as per the instructions below.

Press the power button and make sure the Power LED has turned off. Wait until the combustion
fan turns off. This will take 2-4 minutes.
Step 2:
