Summary
Under extreme driving conditions with the A/C compressor switched off, high temperatures can build up in the fuel rail and may lead to fluctuations in fuel pressure, possibly causing DTC P008700 to be stored.

Technical Background
Under extreme driving conditions with the A/C compressor switched off (e.g., long idle periods or extended stopand-go traffic), high temperatures can build up in the fuel rail and may lead to fluctuations in fuel pressure,
possibly causing DTC P008700 to be stored. Coolant temperature above 102˚C in the freeze frame data can be
an indicator of those extreme driving conditions.

1. Confirm that DTC P008700 is stored in the engine control module.
2. Confirm that freeze frame data indicates DTC set above 102 ˚C coolant temperature.
3. Update the engine control module software using the instructions below.

1. Follow all instructions in TSB 2011732: 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the ECM (J623) using the SVM action code as listed in the table below if necessary.
