OIL LIFE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (OLMS) AND
MAINTENANCE REMINDER FEATURE

This bulletin provides information regarding the new Oil Life Management System (OLMS) Maintenance
Reminder Setting feature available on some 2023MY~ and later vehicles. Kia is advising that the new OLMS
maintenance reminder feature be enabled on all applicable 2023MY and later vehicles. The OLMS monitors
deterioration data factors such as engine rpm, engine load, engine oil temperature and evaluates conditions
such as short distance driving in cold weather, high-temperature uphill driving, and long-term idle. The
‘Service Interval’ (Time and Mileage) option in the Cluster settings may still be available on vehicles equipped
with the new OLMS feature for customer use. During vehicle PDI, OLMS is set (100%) from the factory and not
required to be reset.
Reset after every service: Using AVN, press the ‘Setup’ button and select the ‘Vehicle’ icon in the menu screen.
Under the ‘Vehicle Settings’ menu, select ‘Cluster’ and scroll down to select ‘Oil Change Reminder’ to check
the ‘Remaining Oil Life’. If applicable, select ‘Reset’ to restore the oil life after an oil change service is completed
to 100%.

Confirm that the oil change service was completed prior to selecting the ‘Reset’ option.

MAINTENANCE REMINDER FEATURE AND OLMS

PDI Maintenance Reminder Setting in the Instrument Panel (IP) Cluster for 23MY~ models without OLMS.
After connecting the PDI Interface Module (PIM) to the Data Link Connector (DLC) and configuring the KVID
app with Auto Vin, selecting ‘Pre-Delivery Inspection’ sets the vehicle’s maintenance reminder to that model’s
“Normal” service interval as indicated in their Owner’s Manual. It is necessary that you confirm the
Maintenance Reminder was set after selecting the ‘Pre-Delivery Inspection’.
The Maintenance reminder creates a dashboard display message advising the customer when their next oil
and oil filter change and regular service is due. The Maintenance Reminder feature sets the miles and time
until maintenance is required. If the Customer fails to timely take his vehicle in for service, the mileage and
the time indicated move into negative categories.
Note: This service interval step must be completed to proceed with completion of the PDI. The maintenance
reminder interval will be set according to the vehicle’s Owner’s Manual recommended “Normal” Service
Interval. Refer to TSB ENG219 ‘Maintenance Reminder Feature’ publication for the following models currently
not equipped with the OLMS feature:

2023MY and above:
✓ 8,000 (12 months) on Non-Turbo Engines + EV
✓ 8,000 (6 Months) on Turbo Engines

The Service Reminder at right was NOT automatically set.
This will require manual entry into the IP cluster.
Under certain conditions the mileage may not set properly if:

The service interval is already set

•

The vehicle mileage exceeds 62, on select models with
CAN based security lockout
