DESCRIPTION OF ISSUE AND THE EFFECT ON VEHICLE OPERATION

A potential concern has been identified on specific vehicles within the above vehicle range, where the evaporative
fuel system fails to comply with the regulated standards.

ACTION TO BE TAKEN
JLR Limited has taken the decision to recall affected vehicles to repair the vehicle.

Following procedures appropriate to your market and as required by local legislation, owners of affected vehicles
should be contacted requesting that the owner contact their nearest retailer/authorized repairer as soon as
possible to arrange for the repair to be completed. The National Sales Companies (NSCs), Importer, Regional

Office or Government agency will contact the customers. If you have any questions about this process, please
contact your NSC/Importer or Regional Office for more information.

Check the JLR Warranty Portal to make sure affected vehicles are correctly identified prior to starting this
campaign. The Warranty Portal will be updated to reflect only those vehicles affected.

Retailers/authorized repairers are reminded that they must not sell vehicles identified as affected by this
campaign until such time as the repair has been successfully completed.

An owner may indicate that a repair has already been completed for this concern, in which case the full cost of the
repair should be reimbursed. Refer to the warranty section of this campaign for details of the Customer

Jaguar Land Rover Limited would like to advise you that during ongoing quality assessment of our product it has
been identified that a possible emissions related problem may occur on certain 2020 mode! year Range Rover
Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport vehicles equipped with Ingenium |4 2.0L petrol engines. Please read the
information below, this will explain the actions we intend to take and what you will need to do.

Reason for this bulletin

Your vehicle has been identified as having a Powertrain Contro! Module software calibration that causes an
incomplete fuel vapor purge in the evaporative fuel system. The system fails to meet the regulated performance
requirements and may expose the environment to increased hydrocarbon emissions.

What Jaguar Land Rover Limited and your Jaguar Land Rover retailer/authorized repairer will do

At your visit, your preferred Jaguar Land Rover retailer/authorized repairer will install the latest Powertrain Control
Module and Transmission Control Module Software.

How long will it take?

The work on your vehicle will be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to minimize
inconvenience to you. Your retailer/authorized repairer will be able to advise how long your vehicle will be required
for when a booking is made.

A concer has been identified on certain 2020 model year Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport vehicles equipped with
Ingenium |4 2.0L petrol engines, whereby the Powertrain Contro| Module (PCM) software calibration causes an incorrect purge valve
activation duration and excess hydrocarbon emissions as a result.

Why is Jaguar Land Rover Limited recalling these vehicles?

Answer

The PCM controlled duration of the purge valve activation fails to ensure 100% purge of fuel vapors from the Evaporative System
Carbon Canister. The evaporative emissions system does not meet the regulated performance standards required of it by North
American Evaporative Emissions Standards: §86.1813-17 Evaporative and refueling emission standards.

Answer

JLR Powertrain Engineering investigated the factors which gave rise to an abnormal testing outcome for the evaporative emissions
during a certification test. The investigation found an insufficient purge flow of hydrocarbons in the carbon canister, preventing the
carbon canister from adequately purging all fuel vapors in the evaporative emissions system.
