Dear Dealers,
We would like to inform you that the models involved in this Pre-delivery Campaign, listed
below, require checking the BBS control unit configuration to ensure the proper options are
selected.
There are two possible configurations of options in the BBS control unit. For this reason
please follow the procedure A or B as described in this Service Bulletin, divided according to
the presence of the “options string” in the BBS control unit installed on the vehicle. Please
read the instructions carefully depending on the model involved.

It is possible to search for all the frame numbers that you received
from Ducati Motor Holding.

WARNING
On the frame numbers involved in this Pre-delivery Campaign it will not be
possible to activate the warranty until the campaign is completed.

Customer Impact
All motorcycles in your inventory (to be registered or already registered) and to be delivered to
final Customers must be updated during pre-delivery operations and always before delivery to
the final Customer. This update must be completed during PDI on all affected VINs.
Parts Distribution
No spare parts are required.
Warranty Reimbursement Rules
Reimbursement for work associated with this Pre-Delivery Campaign will be made through
the regular warranty claim procedure using the “VIN History” section of the DCS. The
warranty claim is pre-filled and is identified as CR235.
The dealership will be reimbursed for a labor time of
including the time necessary for:

Vehicle reception

•

Check the configuration and make any needed changes

•

Soft cleaning of the vehicle

for the operation,

Service Solution
WARNING
To ensure the correct execution of the operation within the provided labor time to
carry out the updates, it is necessary to follow the sequence indicated in the
following instructions.
Procedure A: Checking Configuration of Motorcycle Options String
Models: Desert X, Multistrada V4 (MY22-23), Streetfighter V2, Panigale V4 (MY22-23)
1. Connect the workshop power supply unit to the vehicle, switch it on (checking that the
charge warning light comes on correctly) and perform a key ON.
2. Connect the DDS 3.0 diagnosis instrument to the power supply unit and run a Global Scan
to check for the presence any faults or malfunctions. If error code U1900 is present in the
BBS control unit, carry out the described procedure anyway.

3. Check that the motorcycle VIN is properly stored in each control unit. Otherwise, “Checks”
section in DDS 3.0 will signal the correction to be made. A password may be requested for
VIN writing operation: for this reason, it is necessary to open a Youtech support request.

Select “Special functions” item on DDS 3.0, Ducati Accessories Manager → Bike
Configuration.

5. Then select: “Accessory activation without order check on DCS”; then START.

6. Press Confirm:

7. Now enter authentication USERNAME and PASSWORD used to access the DCS portal
and click on the green check mark to confirm.

8. At this point, the message “Accessory configuration different from system configuration Electronic Accessory Configuration ready for writing” may appear.
Then press OK.

9. Once the accessories list is displayed, press on the green check mark without enabling or
disabling any accessory.

NOTE
If no message is displayed, this means that the options configuration on the
vehicle is correct.
10. Follow the instructions and wait for the time required by the Power-Latch (Key off / Key
on) to finalize the operation.
11. Run a Global-Scan and check the for presence of any faults (if necessary, delete the stored
faults).

Procedure B: Checking Configuration for Models Without “Options String”
Models: Monster, SuperSport, X-Diavel, Panigale V4R, Panigale V2, Streetfighter V4 MY22,
Streetfighter V4 SP, Scrambler 1100, Hypermotard
1. Connect the workshop power supply unit to the motorcycle, switch it on (checking that the
charge warning light comes on correctly) and perform a key ON.
2. Connect the diagnosis instrument DDS 3.0 to the power supply unit and run a Global Scan
to check for the presence of any faults or malfunctions.
3. Check that the motorcycle VIN is properly stored in each control unit. Otherwise, “Checks”
section in DDS 3.0 will signal the correction to be made. A password may be required for
VIN writing operation. If so, it is necessary to open a Youtech support request.
4. Also check that the ABS variant in the BBS control unit is the one dedicated to the correct
model, according to the table:

5. Then select the BBS control unit and enter Diagnosis. On the STATUS page, check that
the following options are properly enabled or disabled by scrolling through the list,
according to the indications in the following tables.

(Acronyms): • DQS = Ducati Quick Shift
• DRL = Daytime Running Light
• DBL = Ducati Brake Light (stop light flashing function, in case of “sufficiently
high” vehicle deceleration) (on MONSTER family ONLY)
