Sun Visor Tension
This instruction refers to other documents that are necessary to do the procedure.
This instruction is applicable on both RH and LH side. The illustrations show the RH side.

Situation

This procedure is applicable if the customer raises a complaint about:
• The sun visor press or rub against the A-pillar trim
.

Action
Add shims to the sun visor holder to increase the space between the sun visor and A-pillar trim.

SPECIFICATION

General mechanical tools

QUANTITY
–

1. Disconnect the 12 V system, refer to WOM-00007.
2. Pull down the sun visor.
º If the sun visor tension is too hard: Install the shim with cutout in step 7.
º If the sun visor tension is sufficient: Install the shim without cutout in step 7.
3. Remove the sun visor, 2× T8 bolts

4. Discard the 2× T8 bolts.
5. If the sun visor is installed with shims:
5.1 Remove and discard the shims.
6. If the sun visor is installed with washers below the bracket:
6.1 Remove and discard the washers.
6.2 Remove any glue and clean the bracket.
Note
The shims that are included in the kit replace the washers.

7. Make a decision which sun visor shims from the kit to install:
º Add the number of shims that are necessary so the sun visor does not press or rub
against the A-pillar trim.
º Maximum permitted thickness of added shims is 2 mm.
º To reduce the spring tension: Install the 0.5 mm shim with cutout against the sun
visor bracket.

º To keep the spring tension: Install a shim without cutout against the sun visor
bracket.

8. Install the sun visor and shims with the new 2× T8 bolts.
Part: 130-144-1410
9. Make sure that the sun visor does not press or rub against the A-pillar trim.
