SITUATION
Rear door is difficult to open and the cover strip may have come off.
CAUSE
Cold temperatures
CORRECTION
Reinstall cover strip, unless damaged or the securing clip(s) are broken, then replace.
PROCEDURE
1. Inspect the dislodged cover strip.
Is the cover strip damaged or
the securing clip broken?
YES- replace the cover strip.
NO- go to step 2.

3. This close up picture shows the
defect.
4. Clean the affected area between
the B and C-pillar.
5. Prepare a piece of double sided
adhesive tape (83 19 0 445 309)
to a dimension of (50mm x
10mm x 1.2mm) and apply
between the cover strip and body
frame.

6. Use the lubricant specified
below and cover the entire cover
strip to prevent the door frame
from sticking to the cover strip.
When work is completeted, wipe
off the excessive lubricant.

proper installation of the cover
strip.)
