The purpose of this bulletin is to improve initial quality. When performing the current PDI (Pre-Delivery
Inspection) checklist pay close attention to the following items outlined below.

2. DIAGNOSIS ACTIVITY M161 Levante V8 ONLY
A) Visual check of the Dump Valve wiring harness routing near A/C
Compressor pulley/belt

3. DIAGNOSIS ACTIVITY M15X-M161
A) Radio Audio check for rattle or vibration originating from the front or
rear doors
B) Dynamic road test of the vehicle to check alignment

4. DIAGNOSIS ACTIVITY M156-M157 Ghibli and Quattroporte
A) Visual check of Exhaust Tip for discoloration/coating defects

5. DIAGNOSIS ACTIVITY M157 Ghibli ONLY
A) Visual check of the chrome moulding on the PhoneBox

A) Manually check correct assembly of side central tunnel cover (drive side)
1.

Inspect the Driver Side Central Tunnel Cover. Make sure no gap is present and that the cover is tight
against the central tunnel and slid all the way back towards the rear of the vehicle. Picture 1. See pictures
below.
▪

OK: Very little to no gap present. the entire cover is tight against the central tunnel.
-> ►The inspection is finished. No other actions are required.

▪

NOT OK: The cover is loose or excessive gap present allow fingers to enter.
-> ►Review workshop manual section 09.51.003 – 00 for correct assembly procedure.

NOTE: No gap should be present; fingers should not be able to pass through.

B) Verify the correct function of Hood latches (both sides)
1.

Open and close the hood up to 3 times to verify correct latching of the hood latch mechanism
and check the fitment of the hood assembly.
▪

OK: Both latches on each side of the hood latch properly no faults stored.
-> ►The inspection is finished. No other actions are required.

NOT OK: The hood Latch does not latch. -> ► Open a BOL for “SUPPORT REQUEST” attach
pictures, vehicle scan, and await further instructions.
NOTE: A front Hood that is not fully latched (Both Latches) will set faults in either BCM or ECM

C) Manually check correct assembly of wheel arch mouldings
1.

Manually check the fitment and installation of all 4 wheel arch mouldings. When inspecting,
lightly pull on each moulding by hand to verify moulding is secure to the body along the radius of
the wheel arch end to end.
▪

OK: All Mouldings are secure. -> ►The inspection is finished.
No other actions are required.

▪

NOT OK: The moulding is separating from the body -> ► Open BOL for “SUPPORT REQUEST”
attach pictures and await further instructions.

B) Visual check of the Dump Valve wiring harness routing near A/C
Compressor pulley/belt
1.

Visually check the fitment/routing and installation of the Dump Valve wiring harness.
The cable fixing clip pin must be inserted into the proper bracket hole. See Pictures below.
▪

OK: The cable fixing clip pin is inserted into the proper bracket hole and
wiring harness is not contacting A/C Compressor pulley/belt.
-> ►The inspection is finished. No other actions are required.

▪

NOT OK: Cable fixing clip pin not inserted into the proper bracket hole.
-> ► Take pictures of the wiring harness and any damage present, open a BOL for
“SUPPORT REQUEST” attach pictures, and a complete vehicle scan and await further
instructions.

NOT OK

Note: Due to the location and routing of the harness. Recommend using an extended mirror tool or
borescope to properly inspect.

A) Radio Audio check for rattle or vibration originating from Front or Rear Doors
1.

Play Audio at high volume. Carefully listen and find sources of vibration throughout the entire
Front and Rear doors. Note: Use the panning and fading features to isolate each speaker one at
a time for each door. Mp3 audio test tracks with audio settings instructions have been provided
as a separate attachment to this Bulletin in Modis.
▪

OK: No rattle from any of the 4 doors -> ►The inspection is finished.
No other actions are required.

▪

NOT OK: Rattle noise can be heard. -> ► Remove door panel. Check and tighten the 4
fixing nuts of the window lifter mechanism. See picture illustration below.

Note: if nuts are tight. Inspect all remaining hardware for source of rattle. Open BOL for “TECH
SUPPORT and”, report findings. Await further instructions.

B) Dynamic road test of the vehicle to check alignment
1.

Perform a dynamic road test of the vehicle to check alignment
▪

OK: Vehicle does not Pull -> ►The inspection is finished.
No other actions are required.

▪

NOT OK: Vehicle pulls to the Left or Right ->► Perform Bulletin MAS001539 and open BOL for
“SUPPORT REQUEST”. Attach MAS001539 results to the BOL.

Visually check exhaust tips for discoloration and coating defects. See pictures below.

OK: NO discoloration or coating defects present -> ►The inspection is finished.
No other actions are required.

▪

NOT OK: Discoloration/coating defects present ->► Take Pictures and open BOL for
“SUPPORT REQUEST”.

5. DIAGNOSIS ACTIVITY M157 Ghibli ONLY
A) Visual check of the chrome moulding on the PhoneBox
1.

Visually check the fitment and installation of the Phonebox Chrome moulding.
▪

OK: PhoneBox Moulding is not Detaching/separating and is secure.
-> ►The inspection is finished. No other actions are required.

▪

NOT OK: The PhoneBox Moulding is Detaching/separating and is not secure he moulding is
separating from the dash -> ►Replace the PhoneBox Assembly
