This Service Bulletin VOIDS AND REPLACES the previous (S.B. N°118 sent on 4 November
2013): new VIN number range has been included to extend into 2014 models.
We inform you that it is necessary to install a protection for the exhaust valve actuator on the F4 MY
2013 and 2014. These improvements are the result of the continuous quality control of our
motorcycles.
It is mandatory to install the updates on the interested motorcycles before consignment to
the customer.
Updates are necessary on the following bikes:


MODEL F4 - R - RR MY 2013 & 2014 from VIN DV003401 up to VIN EV005362 inclusive

MATERIALS TO BE ORDERED FOR THE UPDATE:
- N° 1 Part Number 8000B9338 PROTECTION KIT


PROCEDURE TO IMPLIMENT THE UPDATE:

Installation of KIT 8000B9338 Exhaust Valve Actuator Protection:
- Remove the LH Fairing Panel
- Remove rider’s seat, passenger’s seat and fuel tank side fairings
- Remove seat side fairings
- Remove the fuel tank
- Remove the Relay and the fuse box from the
mounting bracket and protect the frame and
the pinion cover with some adhesive tape as
shown in figure.

- Remove the fixing screws that holds the
actuator to the mounting plate and to the
frame, as indicated in the side figure.

- Lift the actuator together with its mounting Bracket and remove the lower actuator fixing screw.
- Install the exhaust valve actuator protection.
- Attach the protection to the mounting bracket on the lower fixing hole by using the screw included
in the kit.
- Position the actuator in the original place, pay attention not to interfere with the surrounding cables.
- Install the actuator upper fixing screw by
using the second screw supplied in the kit and
the original fixing screw that fixes the actuator
plate to the frame. Tighten to 9-10 Nm.

- Position the fuse box and the relay on the mounting bracket.
- Position the fuel tank.
- Install tail side fairings / seat side fairings.
- Put in position the fuel tank side fairings and rider and passenger’s seats.
- Fix the LH side fairing.
- Reassemble the motorcycle completely.
- Please refer to the Service Manual for any information not included in this document.
Test the motorcycle before consignment to the customer.
For any need we advice you to contact the MV Agusta Service Dept.
Procedure for Warranty reimbursement:
Send a Warranty Request for reimbursement of the parts and labor including all the relevant
information regarding the motorcycle and parts with the following codes:
 Warranty Type = GS
 Special Warranty Code = 2781
 Operation Code: H 999
 Labor: 0,5 hours
 Defect Code: 099
Make note to the Service Bulletin N°118.
The reimbursement of the warranty request will be carried out via Invoice as is the normal
procedure.
