This Service Bulletin void and replaces the previous one (SB N°148 Posted on 2nd July 2015)
were varied terms, priorities and procedure of reimbursement.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
We inform you that there is a new starting gears update for the Turismo Veloce model
We ask you to provide the intervention ONLY and EXCLUSIVELY on motorcycles that have
starting problems, performing the repair of the starting gears under warranty with the new kit
Code 8000C2384.
On motorcycles in stock or that don’t have starting problems, it MUST NOT be made any
intervention.
MATERIALS THAT NEED TO BE ORDERED TO PERFORM THE OPERATION:
- N° 1 piece cod 8000C2384 COMPLETE GEAR STARTER
PROCEDURE FOR REPLACEMENT
1. remove the driver and passenger seats and disconnect the battery.
2. remove the right and left fairings (don’t need to remove the front fairing).
3. identify the voltage regulator on the left side of the bike and remove it from its support in
order to have free access to the left screw for fuel tank fixing.
4. Remove the black side panels under the seat and lift up the support plate of the fuel
pump and fuel level connectors, and disconnect them.

5. disconnect the fuel line and remove the fuel tank lifting it together with the support plate.
to perform correctly this step is recommended the 'intervention of two operators.

6. Remove the left and right intake ducts and remove the air filter.
7. disconnect from the filter case cover the engine control unit, the inertial platform and the
air pressure sensor, keeping them mounted on the cover.
Pay attention to the correct passage of electrical wiring in the area next to the filter box.

8. Remove the MAP sensor from its specific fixing on the left side of the filter box cover
9. Remove the air filter box cover
10. Remove the base of the air box and the vapor recovery pipe
11. remove the throttle body paying attention to place some protection inside the intake
manifolds
12. remove the connection of the starter motor and remove the seat opening lock from its
special support, free the area from wiring that could hinder the next operations, paying
attention to the original position

13. remove the starter motor and the starting gear’s cover screws; paying attention to the
correct position of the two ground wires
14. lift the starting gear’s cover by leveraging on the special flaps
pay attention to lift the starting gear’s cover from the dropping of any parts inside the
crankcase
15. replace the starting gear with the new kit Code 8000C2384;
but before reinstalling the cover do the following operation:
 lubricate the starting gears with engine oil
 clean properly the flat surfaces from sealing paste residual
 apply a new layer of sealing paste
 grease the sealing ring of the starter motor
16. tightening torque of the starting gear’s cover and starter motor: 10 Nm
(paying attention to the correct position of the two ground wires)
17. Assemble the motorcycle repeating all operations to reverse.
Make a test drive before the delivery of the motorcycle to the customer.

Send a Warranty Request for reimbursement of the work performed, including all the relevant data
regarding the motorcycle, entering the following codes:





Warranty Type = GC
Spare part = 8000C2384
Operation Code: K 022 (2 hours)
Defect Code: 090

Please in the note refer to the service bulletin N°148 rev 1
The reimbursement of the warranty request will be carried out via Invoice as is the normal
procedure.
