SUBJECT: REQUIRED Supra & Solara Engine Replacement
Carrier
Transicold has determined that certain Supra (6/7/8) & Solara engines must be
replaced to eliminate a potential failure and customer downtime. In the units identified in the
attached list, the camshaft gear was not machined properly and may fail causing the engine to
not start.
Engines should be ordered from PPG under part numbers 26-60001-26RSV (Solara) and 2660000-16RSV (Supra) using the attached form.

Please contact Carrier Transicold at 800-448-1661 if you have any questions about this
required rework. Please take all steps necessary to promptly inform your customers of this
required rework to ensure timely completion. All labor and parts costs associated with this
rework will be reimbursed by Carrier Transicold. Travel time will not be allowed. All rework
must be completed as soon as possible.
Submit a standard warranty claim containing both the old and new engine serial numbers and
reference R#935. Add the corresponding labor time in the SRT labor field for the appropriate
unit. Oil and coolant replacement will also be covered under warranty.
The original engine block should be destroyed by putting a hole near the engine serial
number. Then take a picture of the hole and serial number together and scrap the old engine.
The picture should be emailed to service.engineering@carrier.utc.com
