This is a reminder that certain Carrier Transicold Vector trailer refrigeration units sold through your
dealership or domiciled in your area may require an upgrade to battery cables to prevent a potential fire
hazard. This upgrade is detailed in the attached Service Bulletins SER14-008 that you previously
received and require your and your customers’ immediate attention. Also attached is a copy of a letter
that will be issued to end user customers to remind them of this issue. We anticipate releasing this letter
to customers within the next week. Please contact your affected customers and work with them to have
the upgrade completed on these units as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact the

Dear Dealer Principal:

According to Carrier Transicold’s sales order records, certain Vector 8500 and 8600MT units
manufactured between June 2013 and November 2013 within the serial number range PAH91333094 to
PAT91367875 sold through your dealership or domiciled in your area may require the addition of a
battery cable clamp to prevent chafing of the battery cable. You previously received Service Bulletin
SER14-008 in March 2014 (attached for your reference), notifying you of the need for, and how to install,
this additional clamp to secure the positive battery cable.

Carrier Transicold is requesting that you inspect and install the battery cable clamp, and if
necessary, repair affected Vector 8500 and 8600MT unit positive battery cables. The enclosed Service
Bulletin SER14-008 contains the information and instructions you will need to complete the inspection
and addition of the clamp. For units currently in your inventory, the positive battery cable clamp must be
installed on all new installations before you deliver any of these units to the customer. Units you have
already delivered to customers must be inspected and have the battery cable clamp installed, and, if
necessary, repaired, as soon as possible. Please contact your customers as soon as possible and arrange to
have this work completed. Carrier Transicold is sending a notice of this required action to customers in
the attached form.

If you and/or your customers have already completed this inspection and clamp installation,
according to SER14-008 for certain units, no further action is required as to those units.

According to Carrier Transicold’s sales order records, certain Vector 8500 and 8600MT units
manufactured between June 2013 and November 2013 within the serial number range PAH91333094 to
PAT91367875 registered to your company may require the addition of a battery cable clamp to prevent
chafing of the battery cable, Our records indicate that units within this range are registered to your
company under the serial number(s) listed in the attachment to this letter.

Carrier Transicold is requesting that you arrange to have all units shown in the attachment to this
letter or otherwise within the above serial number range inspected by an authorized Carrier Transicold
dealer as soon as possible. The dealer will add the clamp to secure the positive battery cable, and, if
abrasion to the cable is noted, the appropriate repair will be completed by the Carrier Transicold dealer.
This work will be completed without cost to you. When scheduling inspection, please reference this
notice. If your Carrier Transicold dealer has already installed the battery cable clamp in accordance with
this notice, no further action is required. If you are unsure whether this occurred, please confirm with
your dealer as soon as possible.
