SAFETY PRECAUTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED ACCORDING TO ACCEPTED INDUSTRY STANDARDS
AND LOCAL/PROPERTY REQUIREMENTS.
PROCEDURE:
1. Turn the main battery disconnect switch to the “OFF” position.
2. Inside the bus, locate the affected floor seam trim pieces. Refer to Figures 1 and 2.

3. Wipe debris off along the trim pieces then place couple small masking tape pieces along the trims to mark their
exact location. Trims must be reinstalled to the same location later.
4. Remove mounting screws of the trim pieces. Use appropriate size torx bit. Save screws for reinstall later.

5. Use a sharp putty knife to cut Sika sealer underneath the trim pieces. Ensure not to cut the flooring and don’t
bend the trim pieces either. Refer to Figure 3.

6. Carefully scrape old sealant off from the flooring and from the back side of the trim pieces.
7. Wipe the contact surfaces of the flooring and trim pieces with a lint-free cloth lightly soaked with isopropyl
alcohol (PN 134336). Allow 10 minutes flash off time before applying Sika sealer.
8. Apply a generous amount, continuous bead of Sika 221 white sealer (PN 065952) along all the edges and of
the back side of standee line trim and Sika black sealer (PN 055700) along all the edges of the back side of the
two lower deck trim pieces and the forward hatch trim and place them onto the exact location where they were
before. Gently push the trim pieces against the flooring. Sika sealer must squeeze out along the edges of
the trim without any interruption that will indicate that the sealer is applied correctly. If sealer is not
squeezed out somewhere then lift trim up and apply more Sika sealer. Correct sealer application is important
to prevent moisture intrusion underneath the trim piece that could cause flooring delamination.
9. Remove excess Sika sealer along the edges. Must provide a neat smooth continuous seal along the edges. Do
not use any chemical cleaner to clean the floor after the application of the sealant. This will degrade the
integrity of the sealant. Use soapy water only as required.
10. Reinstall screws (PN 298790). Use new screw if original is damaged.

11. Remove masking tape pieces.
12. Remove all tools and debris and return the bus to service condition.
13. Turn the main battery disconnect switch to the “ON” position.
