DEFECT DESCRIPTION:

Certain International® eMV™ Series trucks may need the cruise control enabled, and cruise

control maximum speed parameters updated.

ELIGIBILITY:

This procedure applies ONLY to vehicles marked in the International® Service PortalS” with
FSC 22114. Also complete any other open campaigns listed on the Service Portal at this time.

WORK INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING! To prevent personal injury and / or death, or damage to property, park vehicle
on hard flat surface, turn the engine off, set the parking brake, and install wheel chocks
to prevent the vehicle from moving in both directions.

WARNING! To prevent personal injury and / or death, always wear safe eye protection
when performing vehicle maintenance.

WARNING! To prevent personal injury and / or death, or damage to property, keep flames
or sparks away from vehicle and do not smoke while servicing the vehicle’s batteries.
Batteries expel explosive gases.

WARNING! To prevent personal injury and / or death, NEVER service a high-voltage
vehicle without completing high-voltage safety training. Before working on vehicle, read
and obey all High-Voltage Safety and Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures and information.

WARNING! To prevent personal injury and / or death, wear and use approved high-
voltage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when near a high-voltage electric vehicle.
Inspect PPE before use. Do not use gloves or other PPE with expired dates, holes,
cracks, or damage. NEVER touch energized orange high-voltage cables or high-voltage
components without wearing approved high-voltage PPE.

Information and High-Voltage Safety sections of the service manual.

WARNING! To prevent personal injury and / or death, or damage to property, remove the
ground cable from the negative terminal of the battery box before disconnecting any
electrical components. Always connect the ground cable last.

WARNING! To prevent personal injury and / or death, or damage to property, if the
vehicle must be raised, do not work under the vehicle supported only by jacks. Jacks
can slip or fall over.

1. Park vehicle on a level surface.
2. Shift transmission into Park or Neutral and set parking brake.
3. Turn ignition to Key OFF position.

4. Install wheel chocks.

5. Obtain vehicle’s current health report for reference.
6. Connect battery charger / maintainer to vehicle battery.
7. Connect interface to 9 PIN (J1939).

8. Turn ignition to Key ON, Engine OFF.

11. Checking for software updates:

a. If updates are available, follow all required prompts. When completed, continue with
Step 12.

b. If no updates are available, select the check mark located in the lower right corner of
the window (Figure 5, Item 1). Continue with Step 12.

12. Verify IDC5 software version: it it should be V.51.3.6 or later.

NOTE: An error message will appear if special codes are needed when trying to access
programming sections within the software.

14. Check for any special codes.

a. lf aspecial code (or codes) is present (Figure 7, Item 5 displays 5 special codes), then
programming rights are available. Proceed to Step 16.

b. If no codes are present, programming rights must be enabled. Continue with Step 15.

15. Contact Texa and provide them with HASP key and Multihub serial numbers.
16. Select Self-Diagnosis menu (Figure 7, Item 1).

17. Select Gateway option (Figure 7, Item 2).

18. Next to BOSCH > Vehicle Control Unit > UDS Protocol (Figure 7, Item 3), select
corresponding START button (Figure 7, Item 4).

23. Select drop-down for Cruise control type enabling switch (Figure 9, Item 1) and change to
Traditional.

24. Select drop-down for Cruise control enabling switch (Figure 9, Item 2) and change to
Enable.

25. Select drop-down for Cruise control pause switch (Figure 9 Item 3) and change to Enable.

26. Change Cruise control maximum speed (Figure 9, Item 4) to 65 mph.

27. Change Maximum vehicle speed (Figure 9, Item 5) to 65 mph.

28. Select SAVE CONFIGURATION button (Figure 9, Item 6).
29. Turn ignition to Key OFF position.

30. Disconnect interface connector from diagnostic port.

31. Disconnect battery charger / maintainer from vehicle battery.

32. Remove wheel chocks.

WARRANTY CLAIMS

Warranty claim expense is to be charged to Warranty. Claims are to be submitted in the normal
manner, making reference to Field Service Campaign 22114.

Section 7 of the Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual contains further information related to
the submission and processing of AFC / Recall claims.

As with all claim submissions, items acquired locally must be submitted in the “Other Charges”
tab. The cost of any bulk items (such as a bag of cable tie straps, roll of wire, barrel of oil, or
tube of silicone) should be prorated for the cost of the individual pieces / amount used during
each repair.

To make sure this important improvement is made in a timely manner, all claims for
22114 activity must be submitted by 28 June 2023 or within the normal warranty period for the
component repaired, if after 28 June 2023.
