Introduction

McLaren Automotive is pleased to announce that updated suspension accumulators are now available for 720s Coupe
and Spider vehicles that were built before May 2021. Post‐May 2021, all McLaren 720s Coupe and Spider vehicles
were built with the updated metal bellows accumulators. The introduction of metal bellows accumulators for earlier
vehicles will bring the benefit of increased longevity in comparison to the earlier membrane accumulators. This
bulletin will provide information on the parts required in all circumstances, the Service Information System (SIS)
instructions applicable and repair advice.

2. Parts Information
To action this retrofit, new accumulators, a new bolt and new software have been released and are detailed in the
table below. The new software is model year specific and is contained within the McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS).
MDS will automatically offer the user the relevant software depending on the model year of the vehicle.

3. Procedure
When completing this retrofit, specific Service Information System (SIS) instructions must be followed, and the vehicle
software must be updated. The vehicle must have either four of the earlier membrane accumulators, or four of the
new metal bellows accumulators installed. It is not permissible to have a mixture of the earlier membrane
accumulators and the newer metal bellows accumulators on the same vehicle. Technicians must refer to the SIS
instructions shown in the table below to complete this retrofit. For guidance on the fault diagnosis process, please
refer to KA‐01305.

4. Repair Advice
Please see the flow chart below for the advised repair actions based on the customer complaint followed by correct
diagnosis of the fault. While the flow chart below represents the repair advice in the event of a fault, the customer is
of course able to pay for the full Metal Bellows Accumulator Retrofit at any time to realise the benefits.
