2022MY Isuzu N-Series diesel
Equipped with BRAKE HYD/VA+PA/4DISC/ABS (RPO IE1) and
FMS-CAN INTERFACE (RPO I4H) and wholesaled prior to Feb
1, 2022
CONDITION

Dealers, upfitters or bodybuilders may notice various warning lights on the dash
illuminating and certain DTCs without an apparent cause during the initial installation
and connection of telematics, GPS, and/or other aftermarket devices to the FMS system
on certain 2022MY vehicles equipped with RPO I4H,
DTCs that may occur are P1381, P1382, U2105, U1001, U0140, U0101, U0100,
U0212, U0129, and U0028. These vehicles were configured with an incorrect module
setup during the FMS installation at the port, which causes these lights and codes to
set. Follow the service procedure below to validate that this incorrect configuration is the
cause of these lights and codes and to reconfigure the Controller Area Network (CAN)
Bus Interface.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Turn ignition switch to the key “on”, “engine off” position.
2. Using the Isuzu Diagnostic Service System (IDSS) navigate to the FMS CAN
Converter (if equipped) button and click on it to show the FMS control unit data
list.

3. Check the “Engine Speed” Data.
a. If the Engine Speed Value is NOT “0”, the FMS is NOT configured
correctly. Continue to Step 4 to reconfigure the FMS CAN Interface.

b. If the Engine Speed Value is “0”, the FMS CAN Interface is configured
correctly. Skip to Step 8.

4. Click on the Controller Programming icon

5. Click on the FMS CAN Converter (if equipped) section and then click on Module
Setup.

6. On the FMS CAN Configuration screen click “OK”

7. Recheck the Engine Speed Data and confirm the value is now “0”.
8. Clear the DTCs and confirm there are no codes and no lights on the dash. If
DTCs or dash lights reappear, follow the workshop manual for the related
procedure.
