CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: On vehicles fitted with the Surround Camera System (not vehicles fitted with only a Parking Aid –
Rear view camera), the camera image may be lost and a blue screen is displayed.
Cause: This may be caused by signal loss from poor connections, harness routing and excessive bending, the
harness being tightly clamped, and damage to the insulation.

NOTE: For image loss / blue screen concerns, the Repair Procedure outlined in Technical Bulletin
LTB00430 must be completed prior to undertaking a coax harness overlay installation. Only for those
concerns not covered by or not rectified after completing LTB00430 should the installation of a coax
harness overlay be performed.
Action: Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION:
1.

NOTE: Before commencing this Service Instruction, refer to Technical Bulletin LTB00551NAS
to see if symptoms apply and check SDD for available software updates to the Camera Control
Module (CCM); Camera Control Module may also be referred to as Image Processing Control
Module (IPCM) or Parking Aid Camera Module (PACM).
Check SDD for available Camera Control Module software updates; updates to be performed as a separate
claim.
If there are no software updates or the issue continues after updating, proceed to the next step.

2. Refer to Technical Bulletin LTB00430NAS and install camera harness equalizers; to be performed as a separate
claim.
If the issue continues, proceed to the next step.

3. Inspect the camera coaxial cable overlay harness for the camera with blue screen issue for defects such as
poor connections, harness routing, excessive bending, harness tightly clamped, and/or damage to the
insulation.
If an issue is identified with the existing camera coaxial cable harness, refer to step 4 and install the

appropriate new overlay coax harness listed in the Parts section.
If an issue is not identified with the existing camera coaxial cable harness, temporarily fit a new overlay

coax harness between the camera with the issue and the Camera Control Module.
• If the issue is resolved by temporarily overlaying a new coaxial harness, refer to step 4 and install
the harness permanently.
• If the issue is not resolved by temporarily overlaying a new coaxial harness, remove the temporary
overlay harness.
If steps 1, 2, and 3 have not resolved the issue, continue to investigate potential faults with the affected

camera or Camera Control Module.
For Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) information and diagnostic procedures for this system, refer to TOPIx

Workshop Manual, Section 100-00: General Information > Description and Operation.
4. Install a new camera coaxial cable overlay harness (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, Section 418-02).
