ODIS Service Version 3.0.0 - Mandatory Installation from
Web-Server
Please be reminded that ODIS Service V3.0.0 is now available for installation, and that it is
mandatory on all diagnostic devices used on vehicles covered by the new vehicle warranty. With
the release of V3.0.0:


Online updates are no longer available for ODIS Service versions up to and
including V2.2.7. As a result, we urge you to ensure V3.0.0 installations take place
quickly as possible.



Installation DVDs are no longer used. New installations on new devices and reinstallations on existing devices are now performed directly from the web server.

For detailed installation instructions, please log on to ServiceNet and navigate to the Vehicle
Diagnostics category. Then refer to ODIS Service – Service Information (2015) document:

Vibration or noise when braking may be due to brake disc corrosion protection
which has not been completely removed by normal braking or surface rust built up
during transportation.
Note: This Technical Bulletin only applies once at PDI. Please note that vehicles
in dealer inventory should be maintained per the recommended 30 days
maintenance procedure to prevent excessive rust build up.

To adapt keys to a 2015-2016 Golf, GTI, Golf R or Sportwagen (MQB chassis,) it
is necessary to complete the “Adapt Immobilizer” test plan. Kessy Vehicles: Verify
that the reader coil (figure 1) is removed from the steering column and the key is
touching the reader coil during key adaptation. Bladed key vehicle, it is not
necessary to remove the reader coil. The test plan can be found under the ODIS
Special Functions Tab (figure 2) or by navigating to “Immobilizer functions” under
“Elect. Immobilizer 5A” after clicking the “Select self-test” button in the Test Plan tab
(figure 3). This procedure adapts both the remote and immobilizer functions of the
key.
Note: Vehicle may not start and or have warning lights on cluster after immobilizer /
key adaptation is completed. See pg. 5 information in this tech tips after

immobilizer / key adaptation for further instructions.

If Component Protection is activated on the radio after replacing the instrument
cluster, running the “KS-Master (Gateway) connection system” test plan will take the
radio out of component protection.
1. Select the Special Functions tab.
2. Scroll down to the “25 – Component protection functions” section.
3. Perform the “KS-Master (Gateway) connection system” test plan.

Revision Summary
Clarified replacement fuse panel part numbers.
High thermal cycling and a soft-coated fuse used at the F16 location may cause
movement between the socket and the fuse blade. This thermal dilution may cause
abrasions on the fuse blade coating, which increases resistance. If this happens it
may result in localized overheating. This, in turn, can disrupt the electrical current
flow to the vehicle’s exterior lights and cause a partial loss (but not a complete
failure) of the vehicle’s exterior lighting. A warning lamp and message in the
instrument cluster will immediately alert the driver. Failing illumination may lead to
reduced visibility of the vehicle and may lead to a crash.
