This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has also been released as a Rapid Service Update
(RSU) 22-065, date of issue March 31, 2022. All applicable Sold and Un-Sold RSU VINs have
been loaded. To verify this RSU service action is applicable to the vehicle, use VIP or
perform a VIN search in DealerCONNECT/Service Library. All repairs are reimbursable within
the provisions of warranty. This RSU will expire 18 months after the date of issue.

Race Cool Down Feature Inoperative
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves installing a hood latch, adding a hood latch switch jumper harness and a Body
Control Module (BCM) Reconfiguration.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: North
America.
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after July 27, 2020 (MDH 0727XX) and
built on or before September 11, 2021 (MDH 0911XX) equipped with a 6.2L
Supercharged HEMI V8 SRT Engine (Sales Code ESD) and WITHOUT Remote Start
System (Sales Code XBM).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customers may experience:
• The “Race Cool Down” feature does not work.
NOTE: One of the inputs the vehicle looks at for this feature to work properly, is the hood
closed status. If the vehicle was built without remote start, the hood latch will not
have a close switch in the latch. No Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) will set for this
issue.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in
DealerCONNECT/Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or
symptom conditions, other than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair
order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RSU VIN list, perform the repair. This RSU is only for
vehicles on the RSU VIN list.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Replace the hood latch switch. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerCONNECT
> Service Library> under: 23 - Body / Hood / Latch, Hood / Removal and Installation.
2. Remove the left front tire and splash shield to gain easy excess to main harness connector
XY110A (Fig. 1) .

3. Remove the left front tire. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerCONNECT >
Service Library> under: 22 - Tires and Wheels / Removal.
4. Remove the left front splash shield. Refer to the detailed procedures available in
DealerCONNECT > Service Library> under: 23 - Body / Exterior / Shield, Splash, Front
Wheelhouse / Removal.

5. Secure the jumper harness to the headlamp harness using Tesa tape (51036) or equivalent.
Install a wire harness clip next to the latch (Fig. 2) .

6. Pass the wire underneath the cross member to continue attaching it behind the cross member.
NOTE: If the three Xmas tree clips are missing in figure (Fig. 3) call out number one, use
the three new clips in the jumper harness kit to attach the jumper harness.
7. Add a tie straps to hold the jumper harness to the main harness next to the existing Xmas tree
clips (Fig. 2) .

8. Add tie strap to hold jumper harness to main harness and run the jumper harness behind the
radiator support (Fig. 4) .

9. Carefully unclip both connections from cross member and insert the loose pins from the jumper
harness in to connector XY100A (Fig. 5) .

10. Remove the two cavity plugs from cavity 12 and 13, connector XY110A (Fig. 6) .

11. Insert the circuit from cavity one of the hood latch connector and put that circuit in cavity 12 of
connector XY110A.
12. Insert the circuit from cavity two of the hood latch connector and put that circuit in cavity 13 of
connector XY110A.
13. Add additional tie straps to the properly secure the jumper harness to the main harness.
14. Reattach both connector clips to the cross member.
15. Install the left front splash shield. Refer to the detailed procedures available in
DealerCONNECT > Service Library> under: 23 - Body / Exterior / Shield, Splash, Front
Wheelhouse / Installation.
16. Install the left front tire. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerCONNECT >
Service Library> under: 22 - Tires and Wheels / Installation.
17. Using wiTECH go into Guided Diagnostics and perform the “Restore Vehicle Configuration”
routine.
18. Clear all DTCs that may have been set in any module during this repair procedure.

Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
