Humming or metallic rattling noise from under the vehicle, heard most consistently during engine idle or slow
acceleration. Initial inspection indicates that the noise is coming from the exhaust system.

Relative movements in the rear mounting of the exhaust system (rear silencer).

If the complaint clearly occurs in the portion of the exhaust shown below, reduce the tension on the exhaust
system:
1. Loosen the mount (Figure 1, A) at the rear of the exhaust system.

with pliers.
2. Tighten the mount (Figure 1, A) while pressing it together with a pair of pliers (Figure 1, B).
