• Affected vehicles will continue to include the
following RPOs for content which will remain.
– RPO: KA1 – Equipped with Front Heated Seats
– RPO: KQV – Equipped with Front Heated and
Ventilated Seats
– RPO: KU9 – Equipped with Front Ventilated
Seats
– RPO: KU1 and KU3 – Equipped with Front
Driver (KU1) and Front Passenger (KU3)
Ventilated Seat
– RPO: KA6 – Equipped with Second Row
Outboard Heated Seats
Affected vehicles will include RPO: 00V, 00R and/or
RGJ (for affected system content).

Information:
Beginning in November 2021, certain 2022 MY
passenger car, crossover, SUV, and Truck models will
be produced without the front Heated/Ventilated Seat
Module and/or without the rear Heated Seat Module.
Some vehicles will be produced without the heated/
ventilated seat switches, while some vehicles will be
produced with heated/ventilated seat switches in place.
For vehicles with the heated/ventilated switches in
place, these switches may illuminate if depressed, but
will not operate as the heated/ventilated feature is not
available. Calibrations have been changed for the
heated/ventilated seat function not being available.
Vehicle models which are produced without Front
Heated/Ventilated Seat function will be identified by
including RPO: 00V (Not Equipped with Front Heated/
Ventilated Seats), along with RPO: KA1, KQV, KU9,
KU1, KU3 as equipped.

Vehicle models which are produced without Second
Row Outboard Heated Seat function will be identified
by including RPO: 00R, or RGJ (Not Equipped with
Second Row Outboard Heated Seats), along with
RPO: KA6.

Considerations for diagnosing electrical wiring
concerns:
System components related to Front Heated Seats
(KA1), Front Ventilated Seats (KU9, KU1, KU3), and
Heated and Ventilated Seats (KQV) will be unchanged
in vehicles equipped with RPO: 00V, along with RPO:
KA1, KQV, KU9, KU1, KU3 as equipped, with exception
of the Heated/Ventilated Seat Control Module, and for
some vehicles the Heated/Ventilated Seat Switches.
System components related to Rear Outboard Heated
Seats (KA6) will be unchanged in vehicles equipped
with RPO: 00R, or RGJ, along with RPO: KA6, with
exception of the Rear Heated Seat Control Module, and
for some vehicles the Rear Heated Seat Switches.
When diagnosing and repairing concerns with electrical
function which may be related to the Front Heated/
Ventilated Seats and/or the Rear Outboard Heated
Seats related hardware; utilize appropriate diagnostics
within SI and replace any needed components as
directed by the Electronic Parts Catalog.
Important: Vehicles designated with RPO: 00V and/
or RPO: 00R are planned to have a future update to
enable the Front Heated/Ventilated Seat and/or Rear
Outboard Heated Seat feature. Vehicles designated
with RPO: RGJ will NOT be eligible for retrofit in
relation to rear heated seats (but will be eligible in
relation to front heated or ventilated seats). Do Not
attempt to enable this content apart from official
direction for retrofit.
