CAN Reader Not Registering Vehicle Speed After
TECU Software Update
Due to a change introduced by the updated TECU software, a CAN reader
can "listen" for the speed signal from the wrong source. This issue has been
corrected for production, but vehicles with TECU software updated in the
field may be affected.
If a vehicle's CAN reader stops functioning following
a software update to the TECU:
The TECU will have to be programmed using Warehouse Programming
mode in Premium Tech Tool (PTT).
1. Start an eService with Technical Support Services. Provide the following
information:
This CBR solution number.
A description of the issue.
The Premium Tech Tool Client ID number of the PC that will be used
to program the vehicle.
The Client ID number is found by selecting the Help Tab then
the Contact Help Desk link. The Client ID is found in the first
line of text in the box that opens up.
2. Tech support will switch the client ID to temporarily allow warehouse
programming capability.
3. Log out of PTT.
4. Log back in to PTT using m029865 as the login and Whp1234# as the
password. The Synchronize User Profile Box MUST be checked.
5. Program the TECU using the appropriate operation under the the
Program tab.
6. Update the eService case when the operation is complete. Tech support
will advise when the client ID has been returned to normal function.
7. Log out of PTT.
8. Log back into PTT with normal login and password. The Synchronize
UI
; Live
User Profile Box MUST be checked.
