Description of Revisions: This bulletin replaces the version dated
November 2012. The related VMRS codes are added.
General Information
Some Saf-T-Liner C2 School Buses built from April 11, 2011 to October 4, 2012 may be started while in pretrip
mode with the vandalock active. Follow the procedure below to correct this problem.
When filing a warranty claim in OWL for this service bulletin, add the letter "T" to the end of the SB number. In
this case, "54-18T".
Procedure
IMPORTANT: This procedure must be completed using the ServiceLink® diagnostic program.
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the engine, and apply the parking brake. Chock the tires.
2. Connect the laptop being used to a power adaptor, then connect the laptop connector to the diagnostic
connector. See Fig. 1.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
4. In ServiceLink, click "Bulkhead Module."
5. Next, click "Features."
6. ServiceLink will check for updates and a message screen will appear showing "vehicle update successful."
Click "OK."
7. Once the update is finished, verify that the updated RPN has the new number 26-02113-003. See Fig. 2,
"Updated RPN," in the third column.

This procedure is warrantable only if the described condition exists and the repair is performed within the
applicable base or extended coverage warranty period. If a failure is not found, this procedure is considered
preventive and warranty does not apply.
