Nissan is conducting a dealer inventory quality action to inspect the main wiring harness, install a
section of wiring conduit and reroute the harness on 2,059 specific MY2022 Nissan Pathfinder
vehicles identified in Service Comm and National Service History – Open Campaigns. During
manufacturing, the main wiring harness may have been misrouted at the fuse box connection
causing contact with the fuse box.
Affected vehicles are subject to stop sale and are either currently in dealer inventory or assigned
and in transit to the dealer.
*****What Dealers Should Do*****
PLEASE FOLLOW THE ATTACHED INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this quality action using Service Comm or DBS National
Service History – Open Campaigns I.D. PC852
• New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle
Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign).
• Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information
• Some vehicles may still be in transit. Please continue to check newly arriving
inventory for campaign applicability.

2. Please do not drive, loan, sell or trade the specific vehicles in dealer inventory subject to
this quality action.

3. Use the attached procedure to remedy any vehicles affected by this quality action prior
to sale.
• Dealers may obtain the necessary corrugated tubing (wire conduit) and electrical
tape from local sources.
• There is a sublet allowance for corrugated tubing and electrical tape.
4.

Once remedied, dealers should submit the applicable warranty claim for the action
performed to close the campaign in Service Comm and release the vehicle for sale.

MAIN HARNESS

Be sure to wear gloves made of cotton or similar material to reduce the risk of minor
personal injury, as several of the parts in the vehicle work area may be sharp.

1. Open the LH front door and move the
driver’s seat all the way rearward.
(Figure 1)

2. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Using a suitable tool, disengage the (3)
lower clips of the LH side instrument
finisher. (Figure 2)

4. While holding the LH instrument finisher
away from the LH lower intrument
panel, carefully pull the lower LH
instrument panel toward the rear of the
vehicle to release the clips as shown in
Figure 3.

Do not pull the LH instrument finisher
too far outward. Only pull outward
enough to provide clearance to
disengage the LH lower instrument
panel clips.

5. Lower the LH lower instrument panel
down to gain access to steering column
lower shroud.


6. Place a cloth fender cover or suitable
item over the dash side finisher as
shown in Figure 5 to protect the vehicle
trim from being scratched.

7. Remove the (2) bolts that secure the
BCM to the instrument panel.
(Figure 6)


Move the BCM upward to disengage
it from the instrument panel and
lower it downward and allow it to
rest on the LH lower instrument
panel (Figure 7)

IMPORTANT:
Do NOT disconnect the BCM Harness
connectors.

8. Inspect the harness branch shown in
Figure 8 for cut (separated) or exposed
wires (missing wire insulation, bare wire
visible).
Note:
Abrasion or damage to the tape of the
main harness is OK.

continue to Step 9.
 If the harness branch has any cut or
exposed wires, contact FQA using
the information contained in
Step 16 and do not perform any
further repairs until a response is
received.

9. Remove the (2) bolts that secure the
fuse block to the instrument panel
bracket. (Figure 9)


Lift the fuse block upward to remove
it from the instrument panel bracket



Lower the fuse block downward and
and position it to allow access to the

10. Position the harness branches behind the knee airbag to allow access to the main
harness branch. (Figure 11)

11. Cut a 3 ¼” section of ¾” split seam
corrugated tubing (wiring conduit).
(Figure 12)


sourced locally

12. Install corrugated tubing (wire conduit)
onto the main harness branch.


Position the corrugated tubing about
5mm below the accessory connector
as shown in Figure 13

Note:
If the vehicle has an electrical
accessory installed, the accessory
connector can be disconnected to allow
additional clearance when applying
electrical tape.

13. Using black electrical tape, secure the
corrugated tubing to the main harness
branch.


tubing with electrical tape, making
sure to overlap the ends to secure it
to the main harness branch

14. Reposition the harness branch.


Disconnect the brown harness
connector from the fuse block.
(Figure 15)



Route the harness over and behind
the harness branch as shown in
Figure 16

Reconnect the brown harness
connector and pull upward on the
harness connector to verify the
connector is fully seated in the fuse
block (J/B) (Figure 17)

15. Reassemble the vehicle in reverse order making sure to torque the fuse block and
BCM screws to 8 N●m (0.82 kg-m, 71 in-lb).


Reconnect the battery and torque negative battery cable to:
8 N●m (0.82 kg-m, 71 in-lb)



Procedure complete, see claims information below

IMPORTANT:
Be sure to reconnect the accessories connector if it was disconnected in Step 13.

Step to be completed ONLY if the harness has a cut (separated) or exposed
wire(s) (missing wire insulation, bare wire visible) as inspected in Step 9.
