Subject: DEBRIS CARRYOVER INTO SEPARATOR
Models: Camel Max

Affected Units: Camel Max High-Dumps

ISSUE:
Cases have been reported where the adhesive bond between Make-Break Gasket and base plate have failed. This
failure allows the center section of the gasket to move/distort, resulting in debris bypassing the debris tank and carrying
directly over into the separator. If left unattended, debris will cascade from the separator into the final filter housing
and may cause damage to the final filter. Once the final filter is damaged, debris may then enter the vacuum blower
and may cause damage.
INSPECTION:
Operators:
When operating the truck, watch for signs of debris within the cyclone separator when performing the required daily
maintenance. When operating the truck, watch for liquid draining out from the drain valve located under the final filter
housing, when the vacuum pump is turned OFF. If carryover has occurred, clean debris from filter housing and
separator, and report the issue at once to your supervisor or maintenance department.
DO NOT ENGAGE THE VACUUM BLOWER UNTIL REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE
GASKET REPLACEMENT:
Super Products recommends using the following kit, and these instructions, for correctly installing a replacement

Follow the manufactures directions for use, including the use of recommended PPE. The following link will allow you

DRIPLESS 2-PART APPLICATOR (not furnished)
The 2-part adhesive requires a mixing/dispersing tool. This tool is not furnished with the gasket kit. They may be
purchased locally, in many areas, or from online sources. One online source for applicators is

GASKET REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS (continued):
1- Remove existing gasket from the base plate.
2- Thoroughly remove any remaining gasket material and adhesive from the base plate using a sanding disk with
80 grit closed coat paper.
3- Thoroughly scuff the gasket surface to mate to the metal plate with 80 grit closed coat sanding paper. The
mating surface is the side without the counterbore holes.
4- Clean both the scuffed surface of the base plate and the scuffed surface of the gasket with break cleaner as
mating surfaces must be free of dust and oil.
5- Read and follow instructions provided with adhesive, including working time for the adhesive.
6- Fully coat the gasket surface with adhesive.
7- Carefully align the gasket’s (4) holes and the (4) holes in the base plate for mounting hardware. It may be
helpful to insert bolts through the gasket and use the bolts to guide and align the gasket into place. If using
bolts as guides, do not use the actual mounting bolts as adhesive will bond to the bolt’s threads and render
them useless.
8- After mating gasket to base plate, apply equal pressure across the gasket during curing. A flat plate or board
may be used for this purpose, and the plate or board can be secured with C-clamps.
9- Allow adhesive to cure for eight (8) hours before removing the plate or board.

POST REPLACEMENT INSPECTION:
Inspect the corners of the gasket and the center webs to ensure they are secure. You may do this by attempting to roll
the edges of the gasket upward and by pushing the sides of the gasket. Any loose areas must be touched up with
adhesive.

proper service, repairs, and maintenance.
Before Performing Service, Repairs & Maintenance on the Equipment:


Wear safety glasses, protective gloves, and follow all safety procedures described in the product
operator’s manual when performing service, repairs, and maintenance on the equipment.



Securely place the debris body, tailgate, and boom in lowered position or securely block up with support
props.



Stope engine & PTO, engage parking brake, lower implement, allow all moving parts to stop and remove key
before dismounting from truck.



Allow all components to cool before servicing or performing maintenance. Avoid contact with hot hydraulic
oil tanks, pumps, motors, valves, and hose connection surfaces underneath equipment.
