DESCRIPTION:
VCM = Vehicle Connectivity Module
IHU = Infotainment Head Unit
During installation of the In-car apps, a pop up message “App could not be installed” may be displayed.
See attached example: “TJ 30592_1.jpg”.
If the pop up times out, it can be found in the Settings “Notification center” drop-down. See attached
example “TJ 30592_2.jpg”.
There may also be a No Connection to Service message in the Remote Update Service window. In this
case, no apps will be found at all in the Explore section.
If either of these symptoms are present, follow advice under SERVICE.
SERVICE:
1. If there is a No Connection to Service message displayed and the apps are not visible for download,
check that the vehicle time and date setting is correct in the Settings menu or that the Auto Time
function is selected. If the date or time in the vehicle is off by a large amount, the Sensus cloud will
not allow the vehicle to connect. If Auto Time was not set, the vehicle will need to be driven outside
once it is activated in order to synchronize the clocks with GPS.
NOTE: During long software downloads such as the Courtesy Upgrade, the VCM clock will fall out of
sync with GPS time and may cause issues with app downloads until the vehicle is driven outside and a
new GPS signal is received.
2. If the above has no effect, perform an IHU Reload (SP 31444445). When the download completes,
drive the vehicle outside, close and lock it for 3 minutes, then return to the vehicle and attempt to
download the apps to the car.
3. If the apps are available for download in Remote Update Service, but the download fails as shown
in the attached images, perform a VCM Reload (SP 31427694).When the download completes,
drive the vehicle outside, close and lock it for 3 minutes, then return to the vehicle and attempt to
download the apps to the car.
NOTE: It may take up to 90 seconds after startup for the connection to the Sensus cloud to be
established. During this time there will be no connection to the Remote Update Service.
