I-TPMS=Indirect Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors
D-TPMS= Direct Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors
DIM= Driver Information Module
VIDA= Vehicle Information and Diagnostics for Aftersales
If the vehicle is equipped with (D-TPMS) and there is a warning message in the DIM about Low tire
pressure, follow advice under Service.
Note: Vehicles with D-TPMS can be identified by one of the following VDN codes:
RG01; RG10; RG13; RG20; RG21; RG23
Note: Cases with “TPMS Service Required” messages in DIM together with DTC’s are not covered by
this TJ, check if any VIDA method is available.
Note: D-TPMS was replaced with indirect TPMS (I-TPMS) on all variants except Polestar, PluginHybrid starting from week 2014w48.
SERVICE:
Check tire condition and tire pressure and then initiate a TPMS calibration according to the following
sequence:

Check tires that there are no visible defects or leaks. Defective or worn out tires should always be
replaced.
Locate the Tire label on the vehicles’ B-pillar to check what is the recommended cold tire pressure
(RCP) for the vehicle.
Using cold tires, fill up / correct the tire pressure accordingly.
Once tires are good and have the correct tire pressure, initiate a Tire Monitoring calibration from the
“MY CAR” menu,(Canada) U.S vehicles do not have the option from the Sensus menu.
Notes: The calibration is done in the background, it usually take 15 minutes but if the driving cycle
is shorter, or speed is below 35 km/h, the calibration will require extra time or will restart at next
driving cycle. Avoid aggressive driving to keep tyre temperatures low during calibration. There will
be NO confirmation when the calibration is complete.
It is not necessary to initiate any further Tyre Monitoring calibration once the system is working
good.

concern area “Vehicle Report” and sub concern area “Support not needed”, use function group 7761.
