Complaint
The MBUX multimedia system (A26/17) only boots up as far as the "Mercedes-Benz" logo and remains
in this state, or always re-starts after reaching the "Mercedes-Benz" logo.

Cause
1. Internal fault on hard drive of MBUX multimedia system (A26/17).
2. Software release of MBUX multimedia system (A26/17).
3. Map data of MBUX multimedia system (A26/17).

Remedy
1. Check hard drive values:

Create a control unit log for MBUX multimedia system (A26/17).

Under "Memory" (USB storage device/Hard disk), analyze the following values:

ReallocatedSectorsID05:
•
PendingSectorsIDC5:
If one of the two values is greater than 0 (see example in attachment), replace hard drive of MBUX multimedia system
(A26/17). (AR82.85-D-1102TS), if both values are 0, continue with Step 2.
The hard drive is available separately as a replacement part in various versions (see parts note).
After replacing the hard drive, follow the commissioning instructions in XENTRY Diagnosis.
Note: If replacing the hard drive of the MBUX multimedia system (A26/17), please refer to this LI in the "Notes" section of the warranty claim

2. Update software for MBUX multimedia system (A26/17).
If the latest software is already installed, or the problem persists after the software update, continue with Step 3.

Press and hold down "Home"+"Radio/Media" buttons for approx. 8 seconds.
In Dealer menu, select menu item "Navigation".
Select "Delete Mapdata"
Reinstall current map version
Perform SCN coding of MBUX multimedia system
Check navigation function

If it is not possible to re-install the map data, or the problem persists after re-installation, open a PTSS case for further
support.
