Overview:
• The mounting bolt hole on the drivers side of the power divider housing
which lines up with the fill plug is drilled through to the fill plug hole. This
can create a path for a leak around the threads of the mounting bolt. The
remaining five mounting bolt holes are blind.

Note: Carriers without the power divider lockout assembly have factory
sealant on these bolts.
Recommended Actions: When a leak is found in this area, verify that all
six mount bolts around the flange are tight.
If any of the mounting bolts are found to be loose, the PDLO assembly
must be removed and the gasket replaced.
If all the bolts are tight, the bolt at the 3:00 position should be removed
and cleaned along with the mounting hole with a residue free cleaning
spray like contact cleaner.
Apply Loctite 567 Sealant (or equivalent) to the bolt threads. Reinstall the
bolt and torque to 42-53 Nm (31-39 LB-FT).

If the gasket needed to be replaced, the same Loctite can be applied to
all six bolts and torqued to the same spec as above

As an alternative repair, the PDLO mounting bolt and washer can be
discarded and replaced with flange head bolt incorporating a pre-applied
thread sealant (PN 25499834) if available.
If the flange head bolt is used, you will torque the bolt to 54-68 Nm (4050 LB-FT). The flange head bolt can be used up to two times and does
not require additional sealant. If it is not clear how many times the bolt
was used, always replace the bolt. This bolt can be used in all six
locations if desired.
