Tech Tool version 2.5.85 contains the fix for this issue. Please update
to the latest version.
If needed the solution below is still valid for older TT versions.
While this solution is specific for the missing operation in the US17 Mack
Chassis equipped with the mDRIVE AMT-F transmission, the general
information is applicable to all AMT products.
An AMT-F transmission saves and reinstalls the calibration data during a
transmission Electronic Control Unit ( TECU ) reprogram event so the unit
should still contain a valid calibration and not need a recalibration if
major components were not changed. Depending on your situation
select one of the options below as a workaround.
1. If the calibration must be performed before reinstalling
the transmission into the chassis, go offline from central systems in
Premium Tech Tool and then select " Finish Work ". Remove the chassis
from central data using the " Latest Selections " screen. Re-identify the
chassis and remain offline with the central systems. This will allow the
calibration option to be visible in the calibration screen.
2. If the unit only needs to be verified to be assembled correctly then
the 4320-08-03-40 Gears test in the test tab can be used to shift
the transmission into different positions.
Due to the possibility of gear blocking the test may fail to engage certain
gears when commanded. If this happens command the shift again while
slowly turning the input shaft to help to align the engaging teeth of the
gears. It is normal for this to happen and does not represent a failure
internally in the transmission unless a specific shifter continually fails to
engage a specific position. If the transmission has been apart this could
indicate that this specific shifter is misaligned. The shifter will be stuck in
an engaged gear position and unable to move to the neutral position or
the opposite gear position.
