Background
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (AHM) is searching for certain 2016-2020 MDXs, RDXs & TLXs with a client complaint of the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) on with
the DTC P030X (Cylinder Misfire Detected), P0171 & P0174 (Rear/Front Bank Fuel System Too Lean), or P219A&B (Air-Fuel Ratio Variation of Cylinder) stored. To
better understand the cause of this condition, AHM would like to collect specific parts from the vehicle prior to you attempting a repair of any kind.
Qualifiers
AHM is interested ONLY if the vehicle meets the following requirements:
1. Non-Hybrid vehicles only.
2. One or more of the following DTCs must be stored:
1) P0300 (Random Misfire Detected)
2) P0301 (No.1 Cylinder Misfire Detected)
3) P0302 (No.2 Cylinder Misfire Detected)
4) P0303 (No.3 Cylinder Misfire Detected)
5) P0304 (No.4 Cylinder Misfire Detected)
6) P0305 (No.5 Cylinder Misfire Detected)
7) P0306 (No.6 Cylinder Misfire Detected)
3. Additionally, one or more of the following DTCs may also be stored:
1) P0171 (Rear Bank [Bank 1] Fuel System Too Lean)
2) P0174 (Front Bank [Bank 2] Fuel System Too Lean)
3) P219A (Air-Fuel Ratio Variation of Cylinder [Bank 1, Rear Bank])
4) P219B (Air-Fuel Ratio Variation of Cylinder [Bank 2, Front Bank])
4. The vehicle does NOT qualify if one or more of the following DTCs is stored:
1) P0087 (Low Fuel Pressure)
2) P0088 (High Fuel Pressure)
5. ALL DTC Check result must be printed before clearing DTCs.
6. Issue has been traced to the fuel injectors using the iN troubleshooting procedure.
7. Fuel injectors & the high pressure fuel pump are original (check eVRM for history).
9. No repair has been attempted for this issue.
